Interesting! I could see it being a Mixwave collab, since he's tight with a lot of pedal and amp companies they've worked with, unless "his own thing" means his own company or something.

Apparently he's been using a QC live, at least in certain contexts, which maybe points to an Archetype, especially since he was always a Fractal user before.

I think he has been using a QC as a fly rig for a while now, but he doesn’t seem to get stuck on brands too much, so I could see him partnering with just about anyone he felt was willing to work with him.

I think it’s more than that, in part because these endorsements don’t pay much relative to his other income, but also because of how he has talked about working with companies and the relationship aspect. I think PRS got him from Fender because Paul was willing to work with him to build exactly what he wanted. Paul was also willing to give him the freedom to play whatever non-PRS guitars and amps he wants.

Feels like that would be an easy revenue win to whichever company he collabs with.
What amps and effects do you think would be included? Obviously would want his signature PRS, probably a Dumble, maybe a Soldano? Effects you'd need a Q-Tron, Bluesbreaker, TS10, maybe his JHS boost?

whoever releases it will be essentially printing money. I respect Mayer as a creative and a songwriting genius but I really have no interest in either sounding like him or playing like him. He probably carries more weight than any other guitarist as far as influencing what gear they like and how others wish they could play, so respect for that. His choice of gear is equivalent to me being interested in what cereal he eats for breakfast.
