Rick Beato interviews Tony Levin!

I had no clue who he was until the LTE albums, but it was because of him I became a Peter Gabriel fan. Love the way he plays and approaches the bass, it could just as easily be a rhythm instrument holding down the low end, or almost a solo instrument. Awesome tones and just a different approach to bass that I really love.

You were talking about asking EJ questions that interviewers never think to ask, were you to ever meet him. I've thought of that same exact thing wrt to JP. This would be a great question: John, what is it like playing with 3 different bass players? Like, how is it playing with Tony, vs. John vs. Dave?

Inquiring minds...

First time I heard So, I was very intrigued by the bass. It was quite different from what I was hearing at the time. That's when I first became aware of Levin. Later found out just how many cool albums he'd been on. He's even done a few albums with David Torn (Splatt from TOP) that are pretty interesting.
