Quad Cortex Mini

TGP definitely went through a phase of purging people who were even slightly critical of the QC.
As you said, the truth is somewhere in the middle. We all like to argue on here, I just don't think some who claim to be banned for "no reason" are being entirely truthful.

Yeah your Kemper situation was wild. I know it can happen for sure but in my case for example, comments did not seem ban worthy but my emails with Scott, I definitely understand why I was banned.

when I attempt to become the voice of reason things have gone sideways. :)

Similar to cars and guitars, some people hold their modeler choices close to their heart. Not all people have enough money to buy all of the devices and sometimes people can get defensive of their choices as they don't like to be cast as making poor decisions.....so I can understand that.

With my comments regarding the power supply, I meant no ill intent.

Here's the big one though. I draw the line with bashing people publicly.
I have been guilty of this in the past and I treated TMP Doug pretty poorly back in his alias days. I think about that often.
It was reinforced to me one day when my daughters hockey team chat bashed one of their teammates in an effort to make one of them quit the team.
I thought back and vowed that I wouldn't do that again to a guy like Doug or anybody again.
Cheers.

Out of interest, aren't you the guy I argued over covid shit on thefretboard.co.uk ??

Resulted in a ban for me and a completely torpedo of a 15 year friendship. So if so, thanks for that. :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

The whole alias trainwreck was a pretty freaky situation. I felt uncomfortable just watching the whole thing play out, because I knew Doug had things backwards but I didn't like seeing the piling on that was happening.

I'm trying man. I'm only drinking 8 pints a night instead of 9, and I'm going for 1-2minute wheezy walks up and down the stairs once a day, but then I have to lie down in a bed of potarty chips.

That’s one of the shittiest things you’ve ever read on this forum?? Lol wut

People have their opinions and preferences. If that gnaws at you and ruins your day, that’s ridiculous.

If you think a good hang is where everyone’s positive about everything, there’s plenty of Facebook groups and forums for that where you get banned for having negative opinions. This is a good hang not cus everyone’s got positive opinions about everything, but we have different opinions but still hang.
It doesn’t ruin my day. And it’s not about shitting on the products. I don’t care about that at all. It’s also not about shitting on NDSP. While I’d like it if that wasn’t in the QC thread I understand that there’s no other logical outlet for it. So that’s fine too. But that post comes across as shitting on the people that buy the products—or at least the QCM I guess. That’s huge difference imo. We crap on products and companies all the time around here and everywhere else. But when it gets personal it seems…well shitty. Especially so when it’s from one of the mods/founders. But I was just pointing it out because I thought it warranted a mention. I’m not going anywhere. This forum is still the best one out there to me. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Addendum to testing above:

I decided to see if this huge noise difference also existed through my EV PXMs. It does and doesn’t. The QC is noisier than the QCM but I can barely hear it either way. I need to crank the EV’s volume and have my ear up near the speaker to hear the noise. So I think it’s a non factor in tha setup (through an FRFR type system) so perhaps that’s why not many people complain about noise issues.

Hm. I should probably check the difference, if any, through the amp’s FX loop. Duh.

The noise difference is still evident through the amp’s FX loop, but similarly to the EV’s I don’t think it’s an issue. I had to turn the amp’s master volume up to noon to make it obvious (ch 1 master controls it in a straight into the loop scenario). That would be super loud.

So to add to the conclusion above, if you’re running into the front of your high gain amp you just don’t want to be using the QC. Not sure about 4CM but I’d expect similar results.*

With the QCM you’d be just fine running into the front. So…

Welcome to the team, @Orvillain 😂

* Fucking hell. Gimme a few minutes. 😡
I don’t run my QC in 4CM, but when I shoot captures, I use a Lehle P-split in between the capture out and the amp input or I get some insane noise and ground whine. If that’s what people are experiencing with 4CM, then holy shit that is unusable. I had no idea it was that bad.
