For real - at least there's an easy fix which most folks or techs can do.That's fucked up. Way to go Gibson!

Yeah, that is good, but the denial on Gibson's part makes me shake my head. Oh well, QC in the 21st century I suppose. For real - at least there's an easy fix which most folks or techs can do.
Fixing for the reissue oscillation (grounding issue caused by reverb circuit grounding):

Pretty silly to give em away like that unless you’re desperate.Interesting resale numbers on the 90s dual rec from recent Reverb sales.View attachment 51904
What's silly is buying it in the first place if you're going to end up having to unload it and take ~$1000 hit.Pretty silly to give em away like that unless you’re desperate.
Eagerly awaiting the first clip of a IIC+ reissue with those snubbers clipped.Kudos to TheDannVal (the tech in this video) who found a simple solution to a faulty design.
Fuck shitson for not telling the customers the truth and changing the story, and fuck them once more for modifying the preamp with plenty of snubber caps thus changing the sound and still calling it a faithful reissue.
Exactly… makes you wonder why they even bought it. But maybe times are tough for some…What's silly is buying it in the first place if you're going to end up having to unload it and take ~$1000 hit.
Probably the ad campaign, the internet hype, and FOMO.Exactly… makes you wonder why they even bought it. But maybe times are tough for some…![]()
I feel like nobody has any cash, I get lowballers and people wanting to trade expnsive cats for a JP2C, the last offer was a Saint Bernard puppy for the Recto.Probably the ad campaign, the internet hype, and FOMO.
Then they might realize they don't even like rectos, or that the reissue isn't all that special next to their other amps.
Macro-level, without seeing industry balance sheets and sales numbers, it seems there's just not much of a market for a $3500 rectifier variant. The Recto amps are not that far apart from each other, variant to variant, and they all do the recto thing. So if I can get a Roadster for $1400, a 3 channel DR for $1600, a 2 channel DR or a MW DR for around $1900, why pay double for the reissue? It looks to me like the Mint/Excellent/New market for these amps is actually $2500, not $3500.I feel like nobody has any cash, I get lowballers and people wanting to trade expnsive cats for a JP2C, the last offer was a Saint Bernard puppy for the Recto.
I meant if you “have” to sell right now I think you have to sell cheap or it might not move. Or trade for a minx cat…Macro-level, without seeing industry balance sheets and sales numbers, it seems there's just not much of a market for a $3500 rectifier variant. This is not the price of specific people that "have to sell" - all of the recent sales are $2500ish. That's any sales situation, not just the "have to sell" folks.I meant if you “have” to sell right now I think you have to sell cheap or it might not move. Or trade for a minx cat…
Offers so far $2000 cash for the JP2C and a Manx cat for a separate offer.Wait, what? Are you seriously being offered animals for amps?
To be fair I bought my JP2C for $1900 but that was pre-covid. Here's the current approximate value of that amp based on recent sales:Offers so far $2000 cash for the JP2C and a Manx cat for a separate offer.
$1000 cash or a St Bernard puppy for the 3 Chan Recto.
Like I am PetsMart.
