Wait, they said summer 2025, it hasn't been released yet, and there's no official word on the delay or on a new date?

Wow, that smells quite bad.

I voted for Kemper but only because I’m quite certain Kemper’s goal is to get it out before Proxy comes along and decimates it. They’ll have a window of time to hustle Players out, but once Line 6 does a Stadium Stomp I’d imagine it’ll be game over.

I don't think that's how Kemper operates. They seem to just ignore their competition completely.

I know that's a common refrain, but I'm not certain it's true. The Player is a reaction to the popularity among competitors in the past few years of compact, pedalboard friendly modelers/profilers. The V2 profiling is a reaction to improved profiling accuracy among competitors. Look at the timing of V2 profiling last year. It was obviously nowhere near ready to be announced, but they must have gotten wind of the Stadium announcement and felt they had to announce something. They lifted the embargo on a couple of influencer videos today, even though they have nothing new to announce about the release date. Normally an embargo lift like that happens when the product is released. I'm pretty sure they see themselves in a race with Proxy right now.

You'd think Tonex or QC captures V2 would be their main competition so it seems a bit weird for them to care about Proxy more than those.

That's exactly what I would expect from an arrogant leader who still thinks they have one of the flagship brands. Kemper needs to compete with the middle and bottom of the market, the big three are now Line 6, Fractal, and NDSP, and Kemper is nowhere close to unseating any of them to get back into the top tier.

A fourth option, before Tim buys one

That’s the problem. They waited too long and reacted. Meanwhile, their own users were begging for a player for YEARS before that. And when they finally deliver, it’s not really the player their users were calling for.

Looks like Kemper will win.

Wow, didn't expect that.

Now, if I was waiting to buy a Kemper mk2 or a Stadium, at the end of this month both Profiling 2.0 and Proxy will be available. If there were months in between I might go for Kemper if I had been a user in the past, but other than that, it's worth waiting up to 4 weeks for Stadium 1.3.

If Proxy turns out to be just as good, Kemper mk2 is dead as a dodo.

I think Kemper will get a boost from their V2 profiling; however, just like Stadium launch, the shine wears off the penny pretty quick and people start complaining again ;).

My expectation is that the new profiling will be better than the old, but still not as good as NDSP. I also believe that an MK2 V2 profile played on an MK1 will also be pretty hard to tell the difference from MK2.

In the end, I don't believe V2 profiling is enough to keep Kemper from losing market share. They still look like an 80's throw back GUI design even though I think the tone and usability live is very good. I don't think this is enough to sell product in today's market.
