" Peak " Digital Modeler Y/T Pointlessness

I’m sure you’re probably right. If true that both of them troll and know it…that’s an even bigger turn off for me. Who knows maybe that’s the only way to grow a channel. That’s very sad if it’s the case.
I think what we tend to overlook, these guys are selling entertainment more than anything, not just gear. You got there because of gear talk, but you stay because their personal brand. Trolling like sarcasm is hit or miss for people. Some get it, some don't.

But, very rarely now does a youtuber influence me to buy a particular product, but I'll watch them because I like their playing and/or some musical discussions that would interest me. Forums are much more effective at creating GAS, imo. :rofl

Ok. this guy is a great player.

But he puts out a video every 15 seconds ranging from QC / Stadium / Axe is best .... then no they're not ... then they are ... then they cant beat real Amps .. then they can ..... and does this on what seems to be a monthly cycle ... and every now and then there's a video saying he had a good poo etc.....

But now, its Modelers "aren't water-proof" - I'm paraphrasing .... 12 min 43 sec !!!

5 min 17 sec mark ... "water could pool inside the FM9 and the FM9 has jacks on the back and little ventilation holes on the sides" ..... at least the Nobel Committee wont have any trouble awarding next years Nobel Prize for Science.

You couldn't make this shit up if you tried !?!?!?!?!?!?

Maybe they should be IP67 compliant ;) Cliff, Eric, CK. Doug are you listening !!!

Likes and subscribes are the new gold (well, it's actually a means to gold 😆), so content is becoming however much worse it needs, as long as it brings likes and subscribes.

These stupid videos are the symptom. The real problem is people stupidity leading to watching this videos more than actually useful ones.

Orv‘s JNC and I‘m Fluff. Who‘s Ola? @the swede ?
Can’t be me dudes… i mean… i can’t be Ola because Ola did show up here i believe, didn’t he?

The entertainment part is a big one for sure.

Which makes me wonder if a gear related YouTube video has to have a person in it or can it be entertaining in other ways without someone like Cordy and others who’s on camera personality is lacking.

I watch videos that don’t have people in them as in talking to the camera and it doesn’t bother me generally. But I watch videos like Tom Bukovac because I do like his playing and for sure his on camera personality.

I’ve heard some people like Zach from Mythos say that it’s more important to have a person in the videos. Maybe for him and “his brand” of a product he sells that’s true but what about people who just make content?

How important is a human being on camera talking etc to the end watcher?

Perhaps that's part of the charm with guys like him. He's not being pretentious, he seems like an average cool dude you'd be fine hanging with and talking gear. A lot of people don't like over-produced and polished vids that come off as fake or too shilly either.

Straight up demo vids I'm definitely good with -- majority playing and minimal talking. Original PGS vids were great in this way.
But every now and then I'll watch Andy Wood vids where he's just live and hanging out. I do the same with Greg Koch vids and others. But those aren't demo vids in the traditional sense either, or demo vids at all.

I'd agree with him on the whole, but is it necessary? Not always. There are plenty of niche channels that made the opposite approach work.

I think it's fairly important in general. For now anyways. :rofl
I'd like to think people still want to feel a personal touch. Time will tell.

I watch Leon , Brett
Also like Sonic Drive , Euge
Beyond that not many others
Andy wood sometimes , Ben Eller
The latter are cool because they give away a lot of free tips lessons. etc and are nice dudes .
When I watch Andy I usually don’t pick up my guitars for a few days after 🤣
Same. I still like Pete Thorn too, if only because he's a killer player. I know that I won't get the same sounds out of gear he does :rofl

Me too and have for awhile but I’ve tried in the last few years to remember that they have put in the time and yes they have talent but putting in the time playing to get better is the key. Pretty confident they would all agree.

If I don’t play because I see they are that much better than me, then I’m just slowing down time I’m putting in. I’m trying as of late to use seeing them play so well as inspiration. I get it though. Guys who are at that level can be humbling as all get out. I’m just trying to not let that negativity in my mind affect me like it tends to.

Elite-level player, but became far too clickbaity for his own good. Don't bother watching him now. Instead of making one video, he will drag a topic out over 3-4 videos and just fill with jamming. He's insufferable.
