Description from the seller...

What Do We Think

This one is loaded with all the accoutrements, and to superb effect. It was to be a custom order for a client of ours, signed personally by Avi Shabat. Sadly the customer’s finances went sideways before the build was complete, so we have the opportunity to offer it to the public instead.

The body is 1pc Korina outfitted with a Rutters 1/2 bridge, a favorite of ours though not a standard option. Tummy cut and neck heel contour for added comfort. The neck is Master Grade roasted flame maple topped with a dark slab of ebony and 22 effortlessly smooth stainless steel frets. The profile is a slim ‘60s C that meets the fretboard with nicely-rolled edges.

Everything about this guitar is responsive, from the feel to the tone. It boasts solid articulation and big dynamic range. The body has an aged “dryness” that is given a bit of extra spark from the ebony fretboard and pair of Lollar Imperial humbuckers.

The bridge pickup sings with control and precision. It favors a balanced EQ over your conventional midrange snarl. Even the neck humbucker remains tight and true. But at the same time, it offers a crushingly big bottom end with plenty of riffing power. Or if you are looking to go the opposite direction, engage the coil split for some serious spank.

How Does It Play

Nice and low with zero fretbuzz. The string action at the 12th fret measures just 4/64” on the low E and even lower on the high E. The neck is a fast C with good shoulder. No trouble holding on here!

So many great things with the Shabat!

The slim C neck carve and rounded edge ebony fretboard feel perfectly slinky, and the SS fretwork is flawless.

Very nice balance and weight with the one-piece korina body, made ever so more comfortable with its generous and much appreciated belly carve.

The Imperial HBs sing in all three positions and spank & sparkle when split. Excellent taper on the volume pot, and the tone knob is useful over 90% of its range.

And of course, she's a looker!

I'll try to get some glamour shots when the sun comes out tomorrow.
