Old friend. Burning Water.

Can the headstock be burnt now?

Yeah. It's not even funny anymore. That he signed off on that design
makes every decision from there questionable. Like a man who keeps
getting a bad haircut thinking he is setting a new trend.

That and he must think so much of himself he had to put his name on there
8 times in case we all forget. :facepalm

:rofl

Cool guitar, but those frets are due for a change! Look flat.
There’s still a dress left. They are dressed with a gentle curve on the top to preserve some mass . If I crown them more the owner will destroy them. The intonation point is narrow still but they last a lot longer like this. Dan Erlewine used to call this bus topping. You cut a sort of D profile.

Funny thing is Tyler is a very quiet and easy going guy. The headstock was polarizing right out of the gate but when you have all the top LA session guys of the 80s tripping over themselves to get one of your guitars I guess you figure the design is a success. From there on in it's been pretty much a FU to the haters.

Is that done with a smaller file or just someone really fucking good with standard fret files?

After 30 years of seeing it, that headstock design doesn’t bother me it all. The headstock itself just looks like a modern reimagining of a Tele headstock. I dig it.

I can see how the multiple logos might trigger someone, but I think it’s part of its charm.

I’d like to try one of these. I hear nothing but praise.

A Landau Classic was all I played for a while during the 2000s. His necks are just so silky smooth and resonant. And the rolled fretboard edges are like butter.

I feel the same. After so many years it's grown on me.

Everyone wanted it with a Strat so this was the F### O##, I hated it when I first saw it but I like it now.
I feel the same way. Other than a Strat or Tele headstock I take a Tyler over all the others.
Plus i do believe the extra mass there makes a difference.

Some Tylers are kind of growing on me the last couple of days. I’ve seen a few darker or colored headstocks I could probably live with, and while playing I don’t really pay much attention to the headstock anyways.
