Nuno ROCKS BATM at Back to The Beginning Concert!

I'd never seen Gojira perform before, and my first response was, "They all look like f***ing Aragorn." Like, you can't just sound good; you have to have at least 6 cheekbones to join this band.

I told our drummer (who'd been watching the show with me), "Don't forget your Aragorn costume tomorrow. And no elevenses."

Gojira are awesome. The Olympics got me into them 🤣

I guess Nuno only uses the GT8 for delays and chorus. I tried to find it but didn't try too hard, there was a recent interview where he said he should probably replace it but he's too lazy so they just keep finding them used and tossing them in a pile at home in case his shits the bed.

Someone get that dude a VP4 or something.

But tone is in the……fingers?

... they put all these other people on the bill, and Nuno's name never showed.

Considering how much he played (unbeknownst to me until a friend sent Bark at the Moon & my jaw dropped looking and Vernon & Nuno) I don't understand why his name wasn't there.
Noticed that too.

Why? Usability is great on the GT-8, FX are still pretty decent in case you don't need much of them, and unlike the GT-10, the GT-8 is no tone sucker.

It's not that serious, man, but mostly because Nuno said "I should probably change it" and there's smaller stuff with higher quality available today.

I’ve said this elsewhere, but while I don’t think Sharon doesn’t deserve some shit over how she cut out former Ozzy members/writers, the Sharon/Ozzy hatred pretty much always ignores the amount of bands they gave careers by starting up Ozzfest and putting bands on the bill. It’s a lot of bands most GenXers don’t dig, so it’s understandable to a certain point, but without Ozzfest these bands would most certainly not have the careers they have today-

Lamb of God
Mudvayne
Slipknot
Incubus
Limp Bizkit
System Of A Down
Linkin Park
Disturbed
Kittie
Drowning Pool

That’s just the bands that got their start with Ozzfest, but they were also brining out already established bands and putting them in front of bigger audiences than they would have had on their own, namely Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Soulfly and Marilyn Manson. Then there’s the bands that have imploded or didn’t make it out of that era for whatever reason; American Head Charge, POD, Static X, Ill Nino, etc.

That’s a good amount of bands that have comfy lives as a result of those shows. While I wouldn’t say it’s fair to completely forget how the original guys got screwed over or why re-recordings exist, I don’t think they quite get the credit they deserve for launching some pretty big careers.
I didn‘t hate her before. Then I read your list of bands. She deserves a slow and painful death.

He's probably better off than us Gear Churners.

They did make those things like bricks.

I had one of the early Blue Ones and it was a metal casing, if I power it up, it is still great for delay, chorus & phaser.

(I used the distortion block for a low-fi effect when the group I was in used to do I Believe in a Thing Called Love)

At least he's not collecting Plexi's and throwing those in a pile at home.

I was just watching the latest episode of Tone Talk on YouTube. Dave Friedman said he's not a fan of Nuno and could never understand the hype about him. Does anyone know if there is more to the story?

Starts at the 13:30 mark, https://www.youtube.com/live/0gi_akRxNWo?si=ukJxk2CFWarg1nTh
There seems to be more there than he just not liking the band. His demeanor at the end indicated he wanted to say something else but held back. One thing is for sure though, Nuno has been one of the most consistent, high level guitarists for almost 40 yrs. Nothing but respect for his musicianship.
