I'm pretty sure Tony Iommi used one before they did his signature amp, and Matt Pike from Sleep used one on Holy Mountain as I recall. They've got a big following in the stoner doom community. Where the hell I sit amongst that I have no idea, but what I can tell you is, I could see myself using this and a switcher unit with a bunch of pedals, one of them being a pedal attenuator to get a clean from it.That was a shredder amp back in the day, used by Vinnie Moore, Kotzen, Jason Becker and Gilbert IIRC.
Nice, yeah all I needed to hear was the beginning. Now I'll go back.Guitar > Tumnus Deluxe > Boss SD-1 > Boss DM2w
But at first, they're all disabled. Then I go through each one. I swear down this amp really brings out the differences in boosts much more than a higher-gain thing does.
It's funny how it's a generational thing.i cant really say they were amps used by much of anyone but the few folks i knew out in western pennsylvania in the late 80s and early 90s. but i bought mine full of telefunkens in 1992 for $400. you saw a lot more of the earlier protubes than aors, and i dont think i ever met anyone else with one like mine! still never had an amp that went into singing feedback anywhere near as well.

For me, plus being in Europe my first band was in 79 and I had a 72 Super bass. That I first used a treble boosters in front of then got it hacked.
The stuff I liked back then were Hiwatts. Sound Cities, Park and of course metal panel JMPs
By the time 800s came around the only use I had for it was for the wer return of the delay.
I didn't play anything but that stuff til I moved to LA in 87.
Oh there was also a GK 250 in there some time.
£275? Good lord! And obviously, being the Laney junkie I am, I just bought this today:
