Doesn't make sense to perpetuate it on amps made in the past few decades.

It makes perfect sense if you want multiple signals to go down a cable while providing phantom power.

That's like saying they shouldn't put midi DIN on anything made after 2002. Silly shit.

I swear I saw a little box online recently that plugged into a DIN and turned it into a midi but now I can't find it and I only have hazy memory if thats even what it was

That's the RJM Mini Amp Gizmo probably. Good box, but unfortunately discontinued and requires custom cables. I'm just a bit annoyed that it has to exist in the first place, sorry to derail the thread.

There are loads of those around. Suhr does one, Voodoo Labs do one, EM do one specifically for Recto's, Mark's, or a generic one too.

Really not a big deal.

The 1/4" footswitch jacks are PERFECT for switching from my GigRig G3. The reason I do it that way is because there are buttons on the top of the unit to activate the relays. So it is much faster to put a patch together.

The D-Moll at the moment is probably my favourite of the Diezels. They all need boosts however.

Your Tonex cap of the D-Moll left that friggin amp permanently on my amp to try list.

I love all the connectivity and switching options on Mesa amps. I end up using them quite a bit, and they make the amps surprisingly accommodating in different types of rigs.

Newer Mesas do have MIDI.

I’m actually using the 1/4” jacks on my Mark V. Started having intermittent issues on the FS. Could just be an issue with the footswitch or it could be a relay in the amp itself. A replacement footswitch from Mesa is $200 and would suck to spend that much if it was an amp relay. I don’t need all the options on there anyway and it was excessively large so I just grabbed this for like $45

This isn’t an uncommon thing, the problem is at one of the DIN jacks most likely.

I found a lot of stuff online about FS issues with the EQ, but my problem was that occasionally when switching to channel 1 I would have no signal anymore, and to get it back I’d have to switch to one of the other channels and back. I tried 3 different DIN cables, and even performed the “mod” procedure Mesa released for bending the tab on the amp jack but still no dice

Perfectly happy with this much smaller FS alternative though lol

Mine is old enough that it still has the aluminum bar running across the back instead of the tube cage, and I have always looped the FS cable around that bar before plugging it in (as a way of taking the weight of the cable instead of the jack). Not sure if that has done any good or not, but I haven’t had any issues in 15 years.

I have one. It should work with my Mark V as well as my Recto. I've only tried it with the Recto thus far though.

Yup. Options are options, and it is nice to have them.... even if some people think the
entire world ought to have outgrown some of those options by now.
