I been wanting a Gibson Victory ever since this reissue version 1st come out about 6 mos. ago. When I first opened up the case there was that familiar new guitar nitrous smell. It's a good looking guitar and construction looks and feels clean and tight. Weight is 6 3/4 lbs. and it hangs balanced on a strap.
Played acoustically it gots a nice resonance and you can feel the body and neck vibrating pretty good when you play it. The acoustic volume is medium on this one, not too loud or too soft. The neck is fast and smooth, about the same thickness as a Gibson '60s neck but more of a D shape than a C.
Plugged into a Orange OR15 and a 2×12 cab and a Marshall 1974X combo the sound is strong and high gain. The pickups seem to be voiced for hard rock and metal and it distorts both amps easily without no pedals. However it sings pretty good clean with the volume rolled back too.
Now I just gotta find a good gig bag that fits it well.
