NGD: Strandberg Boden Essential 6 Astro Dust

Their other lines have graphite reinforcement rods; looks like they went roasted to give the neck extra stability. I dig roasted necks - a lot actually.
They used to have both.
This is my original 6 roasted and reinforced.

And not a veneer top either.

Heck I just like the look a bit more carmelized than pale white maple, if it stabilizes the wood more that's even better.

I really want one in a 7 string, fanned frets with a fixed bridge (basically the NX7 Metal) but I'd prefer it in White or Gray over black and with Bareknuckle's over Actives. Although, the Fishmans I've played seemed fine, and didn't annoy me. I just prefer passives.

ETA: Just saw @Eagle's original above. I just wish the pickup cavities on the new fixed bridge 7 had straight mounted pickups so I could replace the Fishman's more easily/less expensive if I wanted to.

The thing is, for a Cortek guitar and what they charge, they can afford to absorb any cost differences, IMO.

Agree, I love my prog to death, but still think they over charge. The essentials seem reasonably priced though. I bought my prog for nearly $1k less than what they run new, I would have had a much harder time paying that full price tag.

It's an extremely well made guitar though, and seems to avoid the "looks like X but still feels like a Cort" like with SEs because it's such a radically unique design

Yeah, I'm not saying they're as crusty as the previous ones I had experienced. They were quite nice this go-around. But JFC, the price jumps from the Essentials are nuts.

But see, that's your opinion. Which is fine, but you've got to realize other people have opinions too.
Yes but I make a distinction between personal preference and what is objectively better from a functional perspective. I only wanted to know what exactly it is about flater radius that cause some people problems because I can’t see it myself. There is also no option in my explanations above.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see anyone claiming that flat fretboards are terrible for everyone, and it was just something that a few of us don’t like.

That is definitely a thing these days. Very frustrating.

Lower quality for the same or higher price across the board. Furniture is dumpster fire trash these days, the same could be said for many consumer items though.
Good quality stuff ( furniture for example ) is still available but the price has to reflect the materials used and the skill level of the maker. Companies have been down grading instead of raising prices for most of the last 70 years. With globalism that also means moving to cheaper labour destinations to the extent that now the very cheapest and the highest quality are both available in the same country. The USA is certainly not a watchword for quality anymore if it ever was.

And all I am trying to find out is what exactly is the problem for those that have it. Why is a 2mm difference in hand placement so problematic? I only brought up the flatter the better point because I was told it’s a matter of opinion and it isn’t. I was explaining why.
