I like some 80s, lot of 90s and quite bit of 2000s Rap. Don’t like mumble rap (yuck), and Kendrick Lamar is one of the few rappers I like today. That said, for my family and friends that had no clue who KL was, it was basically a waste of SB Half Time show.

Jay-Z's company took over the halftime show here a few years ago and they have done good with it, my Kendrick thoughts aside. I'd rather have seen him perform than Kendrick.

I can't wait for Hip Hop to experience its inevitable and imminent 80s Hair Metal moment.

It's as bleak and dead and worn out from its own cliches as Hair Metal became. It happens.

You gonna get Grunged sooner or later Hip Hop.

Umm, rap came BEFORE Hair Metal, and has FAR outlasted Hair Metal, so I don’t think that is happening anytime soon my friend.

I didn’t enjoy the music, but I read about the messages and points being made during the performance, and of course, I dug that.

When did Hair Metal begin? Sweet, KISS, Aerosmith, Hanoi Rocks...?

I don't know about hip-hop, but suspect the invention of samplers and drum machines may have had an inlfuence before it reached the public. Mid-70's?

But I'm so old I remember when the Halftime Show was a Marching Band.

I'd have been much happier to see NWA at halftime!

It kind of happened during the 2022 Super Bowl in the tribute to West Coast Hip Hop and Dr. Dre,
specifically. Watching that one when it happened with my Son and I got the actual goosebumps several
times. It's legit!
