I really hope I’m around for the zombie apocalypse because the gullibility of my neighbors knows no bounds. I make posts mocking posts. My last one being looking for recommendations for a forensic pathologist. How does this obvious trolling escape people?

Maybe it’s my area but Nextdoor is pretty much like oldpeoplefacebook. And hence why the trolling goes over their heads.

I just learned the other day that you can track and geo-locate everyone in your network of texts and calls. WTF is that?

Just about any app like that can and is designed to do the same, whether YOU can utilize that functionality is the only question.

I just got WhatsApp to communicate with my boss when he is out of the country. Talk, text, video chat with no international red tape to jump through to simply communicate and it’s all encrypted. The downside is it’s a part of meta, I don’t care for that zuck cuck…

The only time that app was useful was our mailman was continuously screwing up our mail, we had 56th St, 56th Court, 56th Lane all one after another and they’d mix up which 56th they were on and we’d figure it out via NextDoor. There was another time the cops were looking for someone and we were getting/giving a heads up that the cops would be coming through our back yard, fully armed and to stay the f*ck inside.

9x out of 10 the posts would be “Why is there a helicopter with a search light on it circling the neighborhood?”, “Why are there 10 police cars at Wendy’s?”, “I have someone’s lost cat”, “Do you recognize this man trying to break into my home who is just ringing my doorbell and walking away?”

We had a blanket of apocalyptic looking smoke in the entire region for a few days. Air quality was at dangerous levels and every type of news media was screaming about it.
7000 posts on Nextdoor “what’s all this smoke from? Does anyone know”?
I make a post pointing this out and it gets taken down as disrespectful and rude. Pointing out half my town must live under a rock is factual. The truth hurts sometimes.
Found the app is headquartered in San Francisco. This explains a lot.
