New speaker day!!

Holy shit, I thought I was the youngest non-teenager here. My parents (and I) watched Monk, too.

The M65 Creamback was my answer to speakers for modelers. The one I have has been transplanted twice now, first into a Fender combo of which I hated the OG speaker.

I also agree with you on the Deluxe + Jensen speakers. No thanks. My bassist has a DRRI that I can get a passible clean tone out of, but any dirt pedals need the Tone knobs at 9:00. I brought in my Creamback-loaded Katana and found my mids.

For this side gig I have coming up I’ve got the rockerverb model in the stomp (I tried preamp and full amp up front and decided I like full amp better) qued for all out shred gain but will be using it sparingly. Loving the dirt models I mentioned with this configuration. But yeah dialing all those in with the Jensen initially is what prompted me to finally make the jump. Even with analog dirts was unhappy with the Jensen. I still find the nature of open back combos to be an issue with high gain sounds but this is a jam/funk band so I don’t need to be going too crazy. I have an abundance of other amazing options for chugs lol

Wait until you try Creambacks with other amps.

:rollsafe

That big pig of a 2x12 there? Creamback H75s. Probably my favorite speaker and my favorite cab. If I get an Orange cab of any sort I’m going to probably pull the V30s and put in Creambacks. Maybe 65s to have a different flavor of cream (see what I did there). Or I’ll get the vertical cab with Creamback Neos.

Low key I still want Creamback 10s for my Fender.

Not to hijack, but what works about the redback for you? I have one I bought like 2 years ago sitting in the box still. I keep meaning to swap it into my oversized 1x12 cab.

BTW,you’re sitting on a diamond.
It will kill through that 1X12.
Right out of the box I liked the sound of the speaker.
It’s not crusty like at low volumes and is very balanced.
It feels great also not too immediate but will get immediate with your skills applied.
There is ample bottom end but it’s not loose and never flubbs in the chuggs.
Sounds awesome clean as well, killer with old Fenders.
Insanely good with modded Marshall’s as the Red’s morph into just the right modern territory for the modded Marshall’s.

I’m also a fan of 4X10 cabinets with the Ace mix
of Golds X Greenbacks.
I like Redbacks in 1X12’s & 2X12’s best.
For me the RB’s are the best speakers for 1X12
& 2X12 cabinets on the market🎯.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I love the EVM12L in my current 1x12 so I’ll scout out another cab for the redback once the holiday sales kick in.
