New pedalboard build: It’s finished!

I've almost ordered this several times... It is not helping if you @gearJunkie is loving it as well, since we have already established that we seem to have similar taste in pedals.
It has replaced my Brown Amplification Protein on my main board, and beat out the ""Duel Gun" (Duelist clone) and "Gladiator" (Gladio Double Preamp clone). All of them are excellent dual overdrives, but the Brothers AM sounds incredible and is 1000 times more versatile with MIDI presets and expression pedal control available for ALL parameters.

Citadel arrived today. I need to rest my ears and play again later, but first impression is I don’t think it’s the one :(

It’s very much like a Plexi, only problem is it’s like a Plexi with a really high value bright cap and no Presence control! Because of that it’s way too thin and bright at the low gain levels I want to use it at (just like a real Plexi would be). If it had a presence control and if I could knock the bright cap value down a notch or two it would be perfect.

Kuro Exegol then.

18V, line-level output, done.

Beats EAE's Model Fet out of the water (and that does mean something)

PS: Model Fet has no presence knob, Exegol does. Not bright sounding if you don't want it to.

Kuro Exegol then.

Giulio @ Kuro has just restarted shipping to the US via UPS.

My T120 arrives later today. The price was €240.00 + €37.00 for shipping. Then there was a 3.9% fee included in the exchange rate for USD to Euros totaling $337.91.

UPS then charged me another $58.75 in import fees.

The costs add up quickly. ($396.66)

Thanks, I hadn’t heard of these before! I like the idea that the Model T is more like a Super Bass, but I worry it might be too wooly for what I want.

I’m realizing the problem is that everyone makes MIAB pedals geared towards Van Halen levels of gain, but I’m wanting a MIAB for low gain edge of breakup. Nobody seems to do that. Maybe Blues Breaker circuits are the closest I’m gonna get.

but I’m wanting a MIAB for low gain edge of breakup
Lovepedal Purple Plexi and Origin Effects Revival Drive Compact work well for me in lower gain EOB territory.

Did you grab that Bluesbreaker/KoT klone/double pedal thing? Or am I imagining it?

Hmm, I've bought a Catalinbread DLS MKIII as a gift for a friend a couple years ago, and after plugging it in when I got home, it was a bit hard to let it go... 😂

Stellar MIAB, especially at 18V.

Fwiw, just in case you were interested in a Weehbo pedal, the guy is around 2km from my house (no, I don't even know him at all, so that's no shilling or whatever), so I could arrange something. Sending it as a present or so.

I’ve heard good things about both. Part of me is tempted to just grab the big RevivalDrive

I’ve always heard great things about the DLS!

I actually played a theater score once that specifically called for a DLS. I’ve never seen a specific pedal called out like that before.

You might want to check Weehbo pedals. The guy has a bunch of MIAB things.
Check that for a start:

That looks really good, thanks for the tip!

I appreciate it, thanks! I’ll think about it

These are some other things that have my attention right now:

Greer Lightspeed/Southlands
When I heard the Southlands for the first time it instantly sounded like the type of tone I love

LPD Sixty8
Seems like it gets into that range of drive I’m looking for and also doesn’t have the “pedal” artifacts

RevivalDrive
Sounds really good everywhere I hear it

Wampler Rewired
Not what I had in mind, but everything I hear in videos sounds like it’s exactly my taste. But it could also just be the kind of music people tend to play when demoing it

And on a different topic I ordered a stereo DI and a DSM Simplifier MkII that should be here in a few days. I got a good idea for a way to easily use the same board with either an external amp or an amp on the board itself

The Kuro T120 just arrived. Interesting that the drive and depth controls are not potentiometers; they are 4 and 6 position rotary switches respectively.
