New pedalboard build: It’s finished!

So, like many many guitarists before me I’ve set out on the pilgrims path to the land of MIAB…
Try a Vox Copperhead. Seriously, they're very good and priced very well. They're $100 straight from their e-store.
I mistakenly hit mine with 18v power because I wasn't paying attention. :cuss It was long enough to cause issues so I'm gonna pick up another.

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll keep that one in mind! Sounds like that whole Vox line was seriously underrated

I’ve been thinking about these:
  • EAE Citadel
  • LPD Sixty8
  • Kingsley Constable
  • RevivalDrive
  • Benson Preamp

All very fine choices, depending on what exact sound you're chasing.

I love my RevivalDrive Compact (and my RevivalDrive Hot Rod Custom) and will absolutely recommend it. It will also do more than your typical MIAB pedal.

I decided to start with a Citadel. Should be here in a few days. Seemed like a good starting point.

I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews of it; I even heard Tom Bucovak said it was really good and I know he’s big on Marshall amps and hates pedals that sound like pedals.

I’m going to try to take this slow and go pedal by pedal to only get what I actually need.

On a different note, I’m discovering the Pedal76 is one of those pedals that just makes everything sound so much better you never want to turn it off! It’s chonky, but it earns its spot on the board anyway

Are you using a loop switcher in this rig, Met? If so; which one?

Right now the plan is I’ve got a Morningstar ML5 I’ll use as an input router for all the instruments, and I’m using the Fender Switchboard as a looper for pedals.

If the Fender doesn’t work out my plan B is to get a Morningstar MC6 Pro and a ML5r

Don’t know if you’re aware of GigRig prices to the US ?

I’m trapped in option-paralysis for drive pedals right now :nails

It’s so hard to tell from internet clips. I’m very clear in my mind about exactly the sounds I want, now I just need to figure out what pedals will get me there

I totally get that. Any chance you could go to a brick and mortar store and try out something on you wishlist?

I wish, I’m having trouble finding them locally though.

I thought from the descriptions that I was gonna go with a couple others from EAE (Halberd and Longsword), and I hear people rave about them, but then I started listening to clips on YouTube and I don’t like anything I hear…

One big question on my mind is if a boost will get me what I want out of the Citadel for more gain, or if it will give me too much extra volume and I’ll want an overdrive instead. But I need to wait until I get it and spend some time with it to know how that pedal responds.

It’s one to consider. My only concern is the two footswitches being so close together. That was the main reason I sold my Rattler. It drove me crazy in the middle of shows

MIDI CC messages can toggle channel 1, channel 2, and the treble booster.

You can even tuck the pedal under the riser on your board and use your MIDI controller.

I've almost ordered this several times... It is not helping if you @gearJunkie is loving it as well, since we have already established that we seem to have similar taste in pedals.
