They’re streaming a rehearsal on IG right now. Just heard one of the singles Romany sings, “Breath”, “Time” and “Breath Reprise”

Gilmour’s voice is a little rough, first time I’ve heard him not sound like he has for the last 50+ years, but I bet we still won’t see him fuckin’ lip syncing onstage like the egomaniac that used to be in the band does regularly!

He’s got a hollow body on now….

I’m waiting until tonight to dig on the album, gotta take the doggo for a long walk so he doesn’t drive me insane while I’m trying to listen!

Two play throughs so far and I’m really digging it. Listened through my iPod Pros in Dolby Atmos and it’s a real treat. Already a few favorites.

I finally gave it a listen, then went back over a couple tunes. I love all the Floyd Easter eggs spread across the album, a synth sound here, a bell there. I only listened to the singles once when they were released, I wanted to have a whole, new album experience with it and I'm glad I did. "Luck And Strange", "Between Two Points" and "Scattered" are my first listen stand outs. "Scattered" does what every Gilmour fan wants it to halfway through that solo.

"Between Two Points" is the "Comfortably Numb" chord progression without the G, F#, E walk-down, that made me chuckle.

I really love every note this guy plays. Still blows my mind that as much as I really love so many other guitarist, no one else hits me the same way Gilmour does and I'm really grateful the guy is still going at his age.

I have quickly created a backing track with Band in a Box for the solo at the end of Scattered. I still haven't finished digesting the album, and I am already playing and trying to recreate the tone 🤓

Quick&Dirty attempt to play it.
And a preset for the Axe-FX III

He's a giant of an human. Unlike some of those other asshats, in other threads, who
not only can't hold up musically, but also seem to struggle with human decency. :facepalm

Gilmour auctions off his gear to donate to the well-being of future generations who want
an hospitable Planet to live on. Then he decided to work with younger generations musically
as a way of passing the torch and not clinging to his fame and prestige like a tired fuckface
clinging to their decaying body and decrepit ego.

The man is just flat out inspiring in so many, many ways. Humility and Grace personified,
in my eyes.

2 more days!

I’m up in Boston a couple days before the MSG shows to hang with my buds. I’ve had so much anxiety over just getting up here because a big part of me still doesn’t believe I’m going to see him again. The Uber driver who picked me up to go to the airport had me chasing his car around my apartment complex to the point I legitimately considered having him drive me to a hospital because after I ran around the complex 3x and the experience feeding into “You’re going to miss your flight/not see Gilmour” I felt like I was going to have an actual heart attack.

I haven’t watched any footage of his US shows; something I’ve noticed listening to/watching bootleg vids from previous Floyd/solo tours is that he takes a bit to warm up live, almost like he’s gotta feel the songs out on a big stage before he really sinks into them. There’s also the changes they’ll make with the band, finding out what works better live as time goes on. So while I know the setlist mostly, I’ll still get plenty of surprises.

You'll get there, don't stress. :grin

Should be awesome!

Now that I’m up here, I’m good! Worst case scenario is we drive into NYC instead of taking the Amtrak…..I just can’t handle my buddy’s driving “skills”. Dude is a fucking lunatic behind the wheel, the kind that believes tailigating someone at 60mph because “they aren’t paying attention so they’ll pay attention now” while putting us in the position to eat their bumper if they even tap the brakes. I can’t do that shit.
