After months of price watching I finally pulled the trigger on a blue Epiphone DG earlier.

I have a plywood Ibanez 335 clone (early 70s, pre-Artist) and if that statement could make any sense, it's easily the "best" sounding guitar I own. Balanced, percussive, great overtones and what not.

I've had a '69/70 335 for almost 30 years and it's by far my favorite guitar ever, plywood and all.

nothing wrong with plywood. My fav vintage jazzbox is build from it, with a couple of solid tops standing next to it.

Rule of thumb: solid tops are acousticly louder..so that comes with qualities…but the big downside: feedbacks by just looking at it!
Solidtop jazzbox on a loud stage…no thank you. In a small club…yes please!
Solidtop when you want to use an overdrive…think twice!
