New chorus day!

For $80 brand new how could I not pick this up!

I’ve always wanted to try one (I know, I know, Behringer, not exactly the same, blah blah). Especially after hearing the Fulltone Choralflange is based on it since that was my favorite chorus back in the day.

Claims about the buffer quality and low noise level also appealed to me.

It’s a very cool pedal! The chorus is on the bright side and sits nicely. It can be very subtle. Dead silent. Lots of different sounds between the controls and the 3 modes.

Definitely a keeper and well worth twice what I paid for it!

This is chorus #3. I put all three on the board tonight to compare and they’re all very different. The MXR is dark, super fat, and sort of bulks up everything. The Waterfall sort of sits between the two. Very Boss-ish to my ears. The SCF is more versatile than the other two and is more subtle. I have to crank intensity and depth to get into the realm of the other two.

Now I need a Small Clone…

Nice! I have the MXR Stereo one coming tomorrow! I'd definitely like to check out the SCF

I would definitely have a MXR Stereo if I had a power supply that could handle it. I really like the MXR chorus “flavor”.

The SCF is awesome and very different from the MXR. The MXR fattens everything up while the SCF is more neutral and can be more subtle. It’s maybe a little brighter. It sounds like the ‘80s to me.

This chorus is going up front. The rest when I want will e from the FM3 in the loop. Board is just for my jam room so power supply isn't an issue. Sounding 80's is a good thing in my book :love

I think the MXR chorus are great at going up front. If you find yourself thinking the MXR is too full/fat then maybe the SCF is worth a try

SCF won the shootout and went on the board. I love how it can be a more subtle “enhancer” when I want, and not always an obvious effect. But it can still do the heavy chorus effect when I want.

I think I’m going to be selling the Ripply Fall. I love the chorus on it, but I’m not crazy about the phaser side. It’s too intense and can’t be dialed back. I like my script Phase 90 way better. I think I’d rather have the Waterfall, but it might not be necessary with both the SCF and PastFX Chorus Ensemble. We’ll have to see after than one gets here.

Got my yellow MXR stereo today and was able to fire it up with the Boogii. It is an absolute KEEPER. Best for Zakk up front vs. the CE clone and the CH1. Little more obvious than the CH and nowhere near as phasy as the CE clone. CH1 was great but the CE clone was not good to my ears at all. MXR going on the board :satan

The MXR Stereo is a thing of beauty :chef

Is your CH1 an older analog one or a newer digital one?
