New amp day. Needed to match my cab.

You know, obviously Reinhold did everything but there were a few players and ex forum goers who had a lot of input on this amp design.

Probably explains the all-you-can-eat buffet of tone shaping options.

I'm curious about your switching here - how are you routing all the amp inputs?

The N-Audio switcher is 8 amps, 7 cabs and 8 FX loops. Crrently wireless with a tuner > my drive pedals > the front of the noise gate, then loop from the gate to the EQ and into the switcher. I am not buying a new system but the hew KHE Audiot switch with impedence matching would be super nice, currently the Mesa cab is 8ohm and the Uber Kab is 16ohm so I just live in 8 to be "safe"

I really want to take the time to get my FM9 in 4CM to enjoy both the killer effects but the amps as well but I am not smart enough, when I tried w/o the switcher even the noise floor was too much for me.

Generally amps with a million controls make me nervous, but I realized quick that almost every one of them can be used to dial a badass tone on the Ultra. Throw a dart, it slaps.

Honestlt I thought the Mark V was going to be scary and it's not too bad but yea this amp has a ton of options that end up really good.

I think this is really the last American/German voiced amp I really care to try at this point. Probably the only one I think could potentially stand up to my Megalith. Some day!

Never really got to fully turn up the Beta. Had one for a couple of months, the Uber sounds better. At least in my opinion.

Everyone I know who has owned both says the same thing, so I'm definitely intrigued, but the amount of amps I've put up against it so far makes me hesitant that I'll like it nearly as much, but we'll see I've got 3 guitars from recent trades I need to sell, so maybe I'll buy one with the proceeds from that.

Did you have the sizzle mod on yours? I'm finding that's the deciding factor in sound for me between other amps. It can basically replicate anything I've put next to it depending on where I set this switch, but no amp has been able to get close to how clear it sounds with the switch in the middle.

I did, had every mod he offered. I believe i got the last one he ever made. Ended up selling it, unfortunately before people started paying obscene prices for them lol.

But yeah its a great amp, probably one of the few who can keep up with the feel i liked about the Ultra. Some people could say it's better than the Ultra, just depends on the sounds you like. The Beta is no slouch at all but, I do think the Ultra is better.
