That was a very kind thing to do. I can just imagine how memorable Christmas is going to be for that kid this year.

GC does have stupidly good used prices on gear occasionally. As you said, they probably mistook it for the budget version. I've seen similar things happen before.

This is mostly where my head was at, young teen getting a professional amp and cab that’ll make him band-ready immediately and unless he turns into a tone snob, he’ll be good to go for years to come. And the whole “Ah man! Joey got a real halfstack for Christmas, wanna go over and crank it up?!?!” was the cherry on top.
