New amp day. Needed to match my cab.

Well today I drove about 3 hours round trip to get the matching amp for my cab.

It sounds ridiculous and I need more time to play with it and with some passive pickups too.

He created an amazing tweak machine that has soooooo many sounds.

Killer stack there, been wanting to check out a triple rectifier. Looks like you have it set loud af \m/
Honestly the knobs are most likely messed up, I had to unstack all my stuff to put the Bogner on the Bogner cab.

The tripple did not dissapoint though, picked it up last week. I need to be done with more shit for the year. I sold 2 things and bought 2 things, my new years thin the herd plan isn't working.

30 days in, sitting in the hospital waiting for my diabetes meds to get out of my system for Gallbladder removal so I won't be playing today. And a bit loopy on some meds.

This amp is a masterpiece! The power section with the bald man, the young turk to the caveman switch (no hair, hair and hair+) make real changes you can hear and feel, not like some other amps where you are not sure what position you are in at any given time. The Density knob (negative feedback) can change all channels tone so drasticly it could be it's own EQ. Just moving this knob can change the feel of this amp more than most amps can do with an entire eq stack. Reminds me of the Orange Shape knob but you still have the EQ stack. The presense and depth are still there to tune that power section as needed.

Channel 1 Uber sounds like the Uber synergy moduel and the modelers various versions. The bright swtich is not as much here, it's noticable but to me it's the most tame switch on the amp. The cleans are very nice, reminds me of the Fender Blackface from the modlers. Again with the Density knob it has so many different sounds from a bit darker to ultra chimey. Crunch is a good crunch too but it's not my thing so I don't spend time here.

Channel 2 Uber just has a little more here and the Ultra just slaps the shit out of it. I like gain, probobly becsaue I need that crutch for my shit playing but good god this gain knob can stip the paint off my Stealth red channel. The boost is a nice clean boost, it really reminds me of my NOTAKLÖN pedal but I don't even use it to be honest. The Metamorph is a big changer too.
When the switch is set to Tight, the Metamorph knob cuts lows at the input.
When the switch is set to Fat, the Metamorph knob cuts highs at the inpu.
And finaly the Doom/Focus/Bright switch is another nice tone shaping tool that helps get that loose doom sound or a focused modern metal and almost twangy brightness for that clunck clunck so many people do nowdays.

Some folks say this amp is hard to use or can get bad sounds... I think it's just because it can get so many sounds you will find some you don't like but I always think about how many objectivly bad some tones are out there I don't like to play but when others play them they sound killer, Randy, Dime or Kurt to name a few.

Usually my honeymoon phase won't last a month, I think this is the single best purchase made so far of all my gear.

My only complaint is the footswtch is flakey at best, sometimes it just won't do shit and others all the buttons work. Most of the time the loop has to be toggled from the rear as the switch won't light up or change the setting.

Mine is the EL34 option and I don't think I care, some amps I tell myself the 6l6 or the whatever tube option might sound better but with this amp I really don't think about that.

Like you said in the other thread. People just need more time with this amp.

I chalk it up to ear fatigue. That can happen with this amp in my opinion. Changing settings on this amp to me is like listening to a 37 speaker shootout with vintage 30s, your ears need to adjust.

I can't say it is the best amp in the world, I haven’t played them all but for my tastes I would be shocked if something can beat the ultra.

There may be something wrong with your Footswitch, I've had 2 Ultras and neither of them had any issues besides popping noise when Changing channels.

I had the 6L6 first. I really wish I had both to A/B but I owned them almost 2 years apart so my comparison is shit.

My brain tells me the 6L6 was better, I don't know why. Other people ive talked to had them both at the same time and said there's no difference. I remember very slight differences and I listen to my YouTube videos all the time to compare but I think the difference comes down to having a different guitar with EMG 57.

One thing that is factual about the 6L6 that I had was the taper on the morph control was a little different.

On my EL34, set to tight with morph all the way to the left it has a serious affect where as on the 6L6 that setting did nothing until it was about 25% up or 9 oclock which is irrelevant to me considering id never keep it that tight anyway. I have it on FAT around 9:30.

How do you know when you are crazy?

When you are in Pre-Op, and all you can think about are your Amps back at home.

Hope it all goes well, and you are back slamming riffs into those beauties before you know it. :beer
