Neural DSP - new teaser (Rabea X, nvm)

Damn! I'm not a believer or anything, but can I go to whatever church you do?

The first two minutes actually were almost straight-up modern P&W. Last minute, not so much.

All that aside, not sure what anyone would expect in a Rabea promo clip if not...that.

Oh I never said you couldn't 🤣

The flip side is if this was a new plug people would be up in arms about how they shouldn't be making new plugs and working towards PCOM or QC content

Trust me, I got banned from TOP for dissing the QC ...well more so dissing discord but alas

My only "complaint" is that we have had some users moving to the QC or trying one out. They try and start some discussion on here about it and it's just met with anger/annoyance etc. I'm all for a good QC rant but I also think there is merit in having productive discussions on it

Man, I try really hard not to be the type of guy you talk about regardless of how I feel about NDSP. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade if they're happy about the gear they chose. That's party poopin' of the highest order.

That being said, the reason there aren't a ton of "productive discussions" around QC is because development has slowed to a crawl so there's just not a ton new to talk about. I'm sure the hand-wired variant of an amp that's already been there for years is fantastic, but....you get my point.

I'll have to take your word for it. P&W isn't a thing where I come from.

It's just like that except for more felt/muted piano and the heavy guitar would be waaaaay lower in the mix when the whole band kicks in. More major chords and predictable progressions too.....

So the “Soon” teaser was for an update to an existing plugin that is now compatible with the Quad Cortex?

FFS. Never change Neural DSP. 😂

It didn't say Soon anywhere on the teaser. It was literally just a gif of a dark moon rotating.

Anything more than that was put there by speculation.

Correction: half-compatible. Full compatibility arriving with CorOS 3.4.
Remember kids: Your Quad Cortex is compatible with NDSP plugins. Provided those plugins have been ported for Quad Cortex compatibility. But only after your Quad Cortex has been upgraded for compatibility with Quad Cortex-compatible plugins. Following their having been ported for Quad Cortex compatibility.

What do you feel is wrong with the delay algorithm? Seems perfectly usable to me.

I like it. But maybe my expectations for this small box were less from the get go (?) 🤔

It is definitely usable, but very meat and potatoes.

Having owned four Kempers in an eight or nine year space, and an Axe FX3 for about four, you really get an idea of how far things have come.

I mean, for example, you can cop Steve Vai’s Ballerina 12/24 on the Kemper or the Axe FX.

The FX are currently what I would say is the weak point of the Quad Cortex. I really enjoy the core tones, so that’s why I’m sticking with it.

I could spend all day talking about this:

But I'm a nerd. :D

I am honestly waiting for the next plug in release and hoping against hope it all X plug in going fwd so they at least eliminate a step

If their next launch is not straight to X that will be their stupidest decision too date IMO, that would be compound stupidity

You are going to feel really silly in 2028 when they're all done with this....

I never really gave Rabea's Archetype a look but it does seem you can make some great sounds with it.

Venn Diagram block?
It's the (Oh, you) Blend block. Which goes some way toward bridging the gap between the QC/HX 4-lane approach and the FAS grid approach. But more importantly, it lets you get at all the class-compliant multi-channel audio goodness via USB.

What does it even do?

I need the laughing yet thumbs up reaction made available!
