Neural DSP - new teaser (Rabea X, nvm)

Can't believe I'm saying this, but......after seeing Rabea's video on the surprisingly considerable amount of changes/new cab/presets/etc. added to the X version of his Archetype, I'm seriously considering grabbing this at the current holiday sale price.

Shame the goofy preliminary marketing decided to communicate none of this, but all water under the bridge now.

I came really close to grabbing (pre-X) Rabea during the Black Friday sale, and now wish that I had. These improvements to the synth are considerable, especially in terms of usability. (Though I don't expect much of that to translate to the QC UI.) I might buy it now and start developing presets on PC; fly them over the QC when the time comes.

Hard to say on the paywall. I think they had a synth block show up recently and I don't believe it was under "plugin" on the QC?

All speculation though.

AFAIK, the synth was the "Subharmonic synth" that showed up in the latest firmware, which is really more of a ring modulator/bit crusher-type thing for bass. Nothing else has been announced, and sightings of a Synth block icon have happened since launch. It's never amounted to anything, nor have they announced anything. Same for much-needed massive improvements on the reverbs and delays.

Is there a digital device that is poly? That's the term right? 🤣

Wait! What?

It does octaving, and then the sound degrades like a bit crusher the more you slather it on. That's all I could glean from their deep dive of it.

Happy to be corrected if there's a different use for it you know of.

I haven't even tried that and now I want to.

I didn't hear anything particularly distinctive beyond adding a fuzz to one of Rabea's existing octave presets (The Stormzy live one with all of those scenes was pretty dope, actually).

I really did like what I heard with his deep dive of the X version, tho. Bastard might make me break my abstinence from giving NDSP a single rotten dime, damnit.....

Yeah, I'm probably going to cave on my whole, "I already bought the flagship h/w and I'm not spending more $$$ for plugins, dammit" stance. (So far the only non-demo plugin I have is Gojira X, and that was a freebie. Probably should have taken Rabea and sat on it for a while instead.)

I might try it again, in X version . for me the most important part or a least a big part is the Amp tone , I found the Kraken pretty uninspiring
but now with the Nolly cab more open and mids , I am wondering if maybe I just did not like the original

I've never even done the trial version. Have to carve some time out during the holiday week next week.

I think Rabea needs to turn the heating on in his gaff.
I'm completely lost.

ironically he is actually a good player and probably the best spokesperson they have outside of Rabea
Lots of excellent players look like they dress themselves in the dark. It's one way to make an impression LOL.
