NDSP Quad Cortex

Or even your phone, probably. Just need an appropriate USB B to whatever cable.
As an aside, I have pretty much USB-C everything now and tons of cables. I bought lots of cheap USB-B to C adapters and leave one plugged into the QC and a spare in my gig bag. likely easier to find a USB-C cable if you need one anywhere if you have the adapter.

The archetype plugins are exactly that: plugins. NDSP started their history with plugins. Their QC is a modeling device and a capturing device that can run SOME of their plugins - the ones that say they’re PCOM compatible.

That being said - some of us rave about some of the plugins but realistically 99% of those sounds are already in the QC with stock amps/effects.

Finally spent a bit more time playing the QC through a power amp and cab. Sounds and feels phenomenal and you have so much volume range - whisper quiet to loud AF.

Telling you… do yourselves a favor and find a Class AB power amp and ditch that Class D garbage. :banana

I need to find either another Matrix or some similar equivalent that’s current and supported. Matrix is out of business so not sure what happens if this thing dies… Not sure how serviceable they are. I got this used locally for a smokin’ deal.

I recently went back to my old ART SLA-2 instead of my Matrix GT1000fx after several years of the ART sitting in the closet.. I am kind of liking it better. I think it is a little more flat and punchy.

Cool - will keep it in mind. Quick search shows the ART is reasonably priced. 👍

This is a no brainer unless you need stereo. You can even rack it.

Awesome. I’ve got a matrix 800 I use all the time. Liked it better than my power station for modellers. Might pickup a KSR PA50 tube amp. Looks really good too.

I like the PLX series of amplifiers from QSC for several reasons:

There are a ton of them available on the used market for reasonable prices.

Many of them were used for house sound systems in a church or club and they were installed in one location for their entire service life, so it is easy to find them in like new condition.

They are fairly lightweight (about 20 lbs) designs using switched-mode power supplies coupled to class A/B, class G, or class H amplifiers.

Unlike many of power amplifiers marketed toward guitar players, even the lower wattage models have sufficient power properly drive a stereo pair of 16 Ohm cabinets.

QSC is a well established brand and pro audio service centers can diagnose / repair them if needed.

While I had the house to myself for a few hours yesterday I played an Axe-FX III into a QSC PLX 3402 and a pair of 4x12 cabinets. With the power amp on the lowest gain setting there was enough volume to feel every note in my gut. That was some good clean fun.
