Between this site, two other forums, and Discord, all I'm hearing are people saying they cannot tell the difference when A-B-ing. That if they set it to automatically A-B every few seconds they will lose track of which one is which.

Last year i did some Captures of some NAM files, and with V1 i lost some hi-end, clarity, but this is good now with V2
Im happy. Now i can get the `Velcro` sound, and it`s fun. It` s just better all around
and... we can do Fuzz now. Just fun!

Aside from the multitude of other reasons someone might not want to buy a QC, the only more recent one I can imagine is - does the advent of V2 captures imply a QC2 in the future? Near future? Far future? Dunno. Doing V2 captures on the unit instead of in the cloud might be the big leap that warrants a hardware revision. (Assuming that capability could be put into any hardware unit that wants to remain competitive on price and such.)
Obviously I could be 100% wrong, but that’s what would be going through my mind if I was looking at buying a QC.

Nah, while there's obviously a lot of overlap, they still have different pros and cons as things are, and I think some of the FX on the QC are better (or at least different). The form factor is different too.
As long as you're buying the QC for what it is now, and not what might be added later, it seems like fair choice to me. If you're looking to the future, well NDSP's history with updates is what it is, even with some redemption brought with this big update, and the odds are that support for current gen QC will be dropped wayyyy before support for the Stadium is.
So if you don't need something now, maybe there's something to be said for waiting and seeing how things compare in six months to a year, but if you do need something now and the QC does what you need, then I'd go QC. I think Line 6's track record makes them pretty trustworthy as far as adding promised features and doing them well, but I still wouldn't buy something this expensive speculatively.
ETA: I also think the QC is small enough that augmenting it later makes sense even without a huge pedalboard. So if you start to feel jealous later, you could add the presumably-eventual Stomp successor into the QC's loop, or a Fractal AM4 or VP4 type thing, etc. Not the same as having an all-in-one, but it's not like you'll be stuck in time even if / when NDSP stops updating the QC.
I would go with unlikely for v2 qc right now with captures on device. The downside of a new hardware specifically for capturing in the device at higher levels of resolution is that we would always be limited by that hardware iteration whereas cloud based removes the barrier in terms of accuracy of processing and can be continuously upgraded without requiring hardware revisions on the user end. On the flipside if they developed a much more intensive version of captures a la hyperaccuracy NAM captures that wouldn't be able to run on the current qc hw then it would make sense for a new hw version.

I think introducing a hardware v2 would unsettle a lot of people still waiting for original advertised features. I did own one for awhile when they first came out. It's mind-numbing trying to keep up with the all of the modelers and their advancements. I'm currently dumping my AXE3 since the price is still high and the AX4 is in the works. Now weighing my options. Thanks for all of the input.

Id keep in mind that the IV very well could be a year off if not more. It sounds like they are still hiring staff for it so if I had to guess, very much in planning phase.

The QC literally feels more complete now.
The Stadium is a different level of device. And a very young one. It will not doubt be pinnacle at some point.

I’m a tiny bit curious how these V2 captures compare to NAM (and to a lesser extent, Tonex v2).
Actually, maybe Leo will do a null test. Those usually annoy me for some reason but I’d watch that one out of curiosity.

Not at all. This update was awesome and its a killer unit. For me, its the best out there right now (for my needs)
I'm sure it has many years or support coming for it yet. It's a powerful unit with lots of capabilities
