Sort of related aside: there's a relatively new YT'r (Death Metal Devin) who does all these demos of combo amps he converted to heads. Obviously; I am a fan of that particular amp kink so I have been a frequent flyer on that channel He cut down a red stripe Bandit combo into a head and it looks killer \m/

Just had a flick through, the bandit ones actually look pretty rad. Not my sort of thing in general but awesome people are doing that stuff

How heavily do we think ndsp are telling their mods to shut things down? It’s honestly hard to comprehend how an unpaid moderator in their spare time is so bang up for defending and protecting the company. I’d be annoyed if it was their employees breathing down peoples necks this hard, it’s even weirder when people are unpaid and doing this stuff for free, wild.

I didn’t think anything in that thread was remotely bad and the threat of shutting it down kept coming up again and again. That’s a whole red flag I’d never even seen out of ndsp, so weird and dictator like.

It's (sadly) a common pattern for this company. The Gear Forum was born from the ashes of people pissed off when TOP™ decided to nuke a couple QC-related threads, where people voiced concerns not too dissimilar to these.

Also, try asking about firmware updates in their Discord, see what happens

Also the mod who shut down the thread in the NDSP Forum is the guy who reported a ton of us at the other place and lied about his affiliation with NDSP (being a mod)

The Stadium is an existential threat to their hardware product line. When NDSP drops out of the business, the people still holding on to their QC's will be left without updates and reliant on a cloud that may vanish. I can see why they would be concerned and start behaving irrationally.

So they say stay on topic or talk shit elsewhere…. And then they go elsewhere and probably pay to have those conversations shut down as well

Yeah I’m on their discord and check it for updates and general talk. The tone of that thread is worse than discord…. And if that’s one of the “better” threads that they let have a bit of breathing room, yikes.
