He ran it through the power amp section of his 5150. Perhaps that‘s why it sounded a little bit too scooped and „sizzly“. He basically doubled the power amp coloration. It probably would have sounded better with his Duncan Powerstage.
You don’t need to. No more than you need to touch the buttons or knobs on your FM9.
You need to use the TS on the QC if you want to get to many different menu options
