NDSP Quad Cortex

IMHO the form factor & ability to run 4 parallel signal paths are still something I see as the QCs biggest strengths.

If, now after the Stadium shakeup, NDSP add NAM support to QC & start releasing more amps, effects & functions I'm going to hold on to it.

If they don't make a move until November, mine is going up for sale.
Has NDSP ever hinted at NAM compatibility, or is this a huge “if”?

Darkglass did it - I have a hunch NDSP might entertain the idea but they haven't said anything. The request I posted on the Unity forum gathered quite a bit of votes so folks definitely want it.
Anyway, we'll see how it goes.

There’s also the “never buy a revision 1 of anything”… Stadium as good as it’s being pitched surely will have some initial issues that will take a couple firmware revisions to iron out.
Alas, I'm not as wise, nor as patient. :D

I did wait quite a while on QC, but that's just because I had zero familiarity with NDSP (even the plugins) at that point, and everyone at TOP was pooping all over it. Glad I finally got curious enough to pull the trigger, though.

Ordered an open box QC from SW but on the fence whether I’ll refuse delivery. All this hype for Stadium and doom for QC has me second guessing.

With all my real amps I’ve neglected my Nano for the last 6 months but recently busted it out and realize how fun they are. But having a screen and full amp modeling (not just captures) would be more fun. So impulsively ordered a QC when I saw they had some cheaper open boxes (past experience is that they are practically new)…
Nothing is perfect, but the QC is still great. It's super fun and easy to use and it can produce plenty of great tones. I think a lot of people hate on the QC because they hate the company; the QC itself gets far less hate.

The Stadium looks amazing and has some super cool looking features but until it's in the wild it's still mostly an unknown.

The QC actually has a good bit of runway before "the Death Star becomes fully operational" (i.e. Stadium launches with both units and has Proxy enabled with cloud training and has a good bit of Proxy content available). I'm figuring all of those boxes won't be checked until May-July of 2026.

It's go-time for Neural to sketch out a realistic near future vision that doesn't involve plugins, then - and this is key -.....they gotta actually deliver on it.

There's no reason they can't continue to thrive as a smaller, more affordable competitor that also has the plus of running Neural plugins.

Don’t worry I’m usually not either 😂

This is ultimately Neurals biggest problem. They are worst in class at adding native content. Like not even features, but just ordinary amps and effects. They never add shit.

Darkglass is owned by Korg now and has nothing to do with NDSP

It would kinda undermine their entire lineup wouldn’t it? Line 6 is in a good position to add it in parallel because their product is new

Decided to take delivery and not refuse. This is my 4th or 5th one… I lost track.

But the upside is I was up and running in 5 minutes. Even accounting for creating a preset from scratch for my current Slipknot obsession. A testament to the ease of use and intuitive UI.

Got the Mick Thomson sig LTD last week too. 😝🤘

Sorry, I have to chuckle here. I think in the entire time that Unity forum has been up they've completed 19 requests and they were all things that should have been on there at the start, if I'm not mistaken. No one will even confirm if they look at that forum anymore. There's no way they would entertain NAM unless they could make a significant flow of cash from it. The only thing that company is working on is another revenue stream for the QC.

They might have some room to breath until the Stadium starts doing profiles/captures, but it won't be much by the look of their Discord the other day. Once the Stadium is doing caps I think the only thing compelling people to go to the QC will be the size, because it won't be the features nor the price. So unless getting NAM on the QC is something potential customers really want, their entire focus after PCOM will whatever they believe will draw new customers in.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if the only thing they focus on after PCOM is making new plugins for a while. Unless they have something to rejuvinate QC sales, it's the quickest and easiest revenue stream for them and it's been nearly 2 years since their last new plugin that wasn't an X version.

Putting aside my clearly know views about NDSP .... a lot of people forget that the big reason the QC is so compact is that it uses an external brick - or spend $300 or so on a Cioks.

If the QC had a worldwide 110 / 240 switching power supply in it - as it should - like Fractal, L6, Kemper ...... it would be substantially bigger.

But... but... but... the form factor!

IMO external bricks are not a problem if they are well designed. Unfortunately instead most companies use some bottom of the barrel OEM part that is not practical or reliable.

Been away from a QC for a while. I noticed I can toggle which output is active with the volume knob but it only shows momentarily when you actually turn the knob.

Is there a way to access this function in the menus? I didn’t see anything in the I/O screen.

Congrats! That guitar is CLEAN

Added an extra output path bypassing the cab/IR and running into the FX loop of my Dual Rec. Perfect amp for it as it has a “loop active master volume”. Took a few minutes to adjust levels but figured it out. Output 1/2 is for my headphones/silent playing. Output 3 (mono) to the recto and 4x12 cab.

Fuckin A this is awesome!!!

Forgive my plebeian self for just discovering this. In the past I always tried using small solid state power amps (SD power stage) and was always underwhelmed.

I’ll try this next with my JCM 800 but that’s in the basement.
