NDSP Quad Cortex

It’s my opinion that people who use way too much gain do so to cover up shitty playing. It’s my opinion. Sorry if that strikes a nerve and maybe it does because for some it’s true. Give an ad hominem don’t be surprised to get one back.
Your opinion is not based on any form of reasoning or data. It is based on ignorance and bigotry.

My opinion is not.

That is the difference.

Why not just go over to an FM9?? The size?? Complexity?? Genuinely curious.

He cited the QC's usability first, and that tells you all you need to know. FM9 is awesome, and it actually has some areas where things are more simplified and usable compared to Quad Cortex (e.g. Performance pages, scribble strips). But using it is a completely different paradigm/workflow. I can see why some wanna stick with QC.

Are there even enough onboard "devices(?)" available to make 4cm make sense with the QC?

IMHO it’s not my use case for it so I couldn’t say. 4CM introduces more opportunity for noise so it’s not surprising it’s an issue. If I were going 4CM with an amp there are better options than most all in the box modelers and not for noise floor reasons.
I ran into zero issues running it 4cm, without use of a noisegate (don’t use those), gains up to “appropriate for rock”.

As I suspected. Much to do about nothing.
So are you disagreeing with my screenshots? Have you done the test yourself?

Maybe (as I have been saying) @AFKAEjay(retired) just has a higher tolerance for noise? Or maybe his ears aren't as good as mine? Who knows.

It is interesting you'd just take his word for it though, while at the same time attempting to run me through the ringer.
