NDSP Quad Cortex

How is this not a contender for that?

From the video it seems they put a ton in this thing. It really doesn't seem to be lacking much and it certainly doesn't seem to be a neutered QC

The switching seems more oriented for desktop. Even in the Sweetwater video, they say you'd probably want to add a MIDI controller for live.

Close, but no cigar. Also, a bad value to me against a used/B-stock QC.

Is it a full sized QC in a small package? And aren't their MIDI options fairly pedestrian/simple?

I also want to see some long-term reviews, because that big-ass display right in the middle where footswitching happens sounds like a recipe for disaster...

From SW

"Moreover, you get the same 7-inch multi-touch display, ensuring fast, intuitive editing and streamlining signal path and effects management. Beyond that, the Quad Cortex Mini runs the same CorOS software, and it integrates flawlessly with the Quad Cortex ecosystem. This means that you can transfer your presets, full backups, and complete workflows seamlessly between the Mini and your full-sized Quad Cortex with zero compatibility hassles — everything works exactly as expected with nothing to rebuild. Finally, the Quad Cortex Mini will benefit from all CorOS updates, ensuring that you always have the latest iteration of Neural Capture at your disposal, as well as any new features and virtual devices that are released."

So it has the same power as the QC? If it can seamlessly transfer QC presets, that has to be the case right?

It's a bit of a chunky boy. I was kinda expecting it to be more Stomp sized, given the photos we've seen so far.

For 1,000 I would have auto purchased. For 1,100 I could have gotten there after wallowing around in some sweet influencer content. At 1,400 im just going to go back and wait for NAMM coverage to hit full boil and look for other opportunities to partake in rampant consumerism.

Sorta. Maybe. Where Neural laps the field with the rest of the market is in modern design elements. They don’t look or feel like something from eras past. When you combine sleek hardware and a modern UI with a bunch of IO, modeling + capturing + plugs, and other modern conveniences (WiFi updates, cloud sharing, etc) the value proposition isn’t strictly tones.
IMO, It appeals to the Apple crowd.
