I'll always love him too, but I haven't loved an album of his for quite some time.

He’s VERY hit or miss for me and has been his entire career. I can be absolutely in love with an entire album and then have zero interest in the next one. There’s been some periods of consistency, the whole DTP era with those first 4 albums; Ki, Addicted, Deconstruction and the last one I can’t remember, but then Epicloud and Z2 didn’t do it for me at all, but Transcendence was a good one. Empath was mostly meh for me, Puzzle was ….nope, but I love Lightwork and Powernerd.

I liked Epicloud, actually, but it was probably the last full-length I was all the way in on. Yeah, there are bits and bobs on Empath, Lightwork and Powernerd I dig, but the maximalist "bring-on-the-choirs-and-female-co-vocalists-galore!" aesthetic gets exhausting and uninteresting if it's not paired with the crazier songwriting of, say, Deconstruction.

I certainly can agree with that. At one point I was so sick of hearing Anneke’s voice, which is pretty crazy because I absolutely LOVED it when I first heard it, but that was like too much candy.
