NDSP Quad Cortex

I never cared for the QC's delays. But the Plini's are incredible! imo of course..
Are you referring to the stompbox (pre) Delay or the post-effects delay (or both)? Can you elaborate on how or why you prefer them over the QCs native delays? The marketing copy describing these effects is not very... er, descriptive. I might have gone for Plini over Gojira if I'd known the delays were something special. (It's still a bit vexing that their flagship modeler doesn't have their best effects, those having apparently been reserved for their $50-$90 plugins... :hmm)

Did you check the dual delay closely? The default setting load something very basic…but there’s a lot of parameters available to get it some place else.

Did you mean to quote @Axe here? I'm not looking for anything specific, I'm just curious as to why he feels Plini's delays are superior (and compared to what.)

Its funny how us nerds quibble over details in digital gear but when you talk to bands using the QC and hear segments like this, it puts into perspective just how good everything is.

I could do a long diatribe here but I won't. Personal taste... There you have it. That's what it comes down to.... There are other elements of the Plini plug in that are worthwhile in the QC. I bought the Plini plug in as a plug in.. Never thought I could incorporate it into the QC (who did?) so that became an unexpected plus.. SO that helps justify the plugin cost imo..

Delays (and reverbs) are a personal acquired taste, kinda like whiskey. :sofa

Of course I agree that preferences in effects are subjective. I'm still just trying to determine whether Plini's delays are in fact different from the QC's built in delays. (Or Gojira's for that matter.)

On Gojira's I can't answer to that. I don't have the Gojira plug in to compare but my ears, there is a significant difference between the Plini delays and the built in QC's delays.

Last I saw, Plini's board consists of just a Quad Cortex and an expression pedal. Perhaps they are doing something backstage for processing.

Not sure how recently you saw Plini, but it's possible (likely, depending on timeframe) his QC already had his plugin installed.
Ah I just understood the comment I replied to. I thought he was alluding to Plini maybe using external effects. But he was talking about the delays in the Plini plugin. Thanks for helping clarify!

Been with my buddy this afternoon, he arrived some days ago from a 25 gig tour all around Europe. All big stages, some were 10k audience gigs. Very experienced sound guys, who work for VERY big names (Gilmour, for instance).

He's an amp guy, but for this tour it was just too much more convenient a digital rig. He used the QC, with IEMs.

He's absolutely sold on the QC. And everyone in the band and tech stuff were amazed by his tone. Well... Being honest, this mate sounds glorious with anything, so it maybe isn't all the merit from the QC. But I know him very well, and he doesn't talk about other units the way he talks about the QC.

Does he have a Fro and An EBMM endorsement?
