NDSP Quad Cortex

Out of all the plugins being ported, not sure why this one was in the first couple batches.
I have actually been trialling a bunch of their stuff and ironically the SLO is definitely one of the better sounding models IMO , for people with the QC its probably worth the $50, effects are nothing special but the amp tones are very good , preferred it to Petrucci and oddly Rabea
actually I would say most of the effects delays and reverbs are pretty similar and generic , I actually think the PCM70 Circular that they added last update is probably their best sounding delay and its not in the Plugins that I can see so far

Sure but I wonder how much it differs from the SLO model in the QC?

not sure , you would have to ask someone with the QC, I guess we will find out soon though as it should be easy to compare to the guys that have both , Most things I read is that the Plug in is a little better , even after they improved the QC model

It’s better. I’ve owned the QC since bout 8 months post launch and slo plug was always my biggest desire for pcom. The updated version in the QC was better than the initial offering but the current top shelf slo model is in slo x. Nameless rocks too. I think they went with popularity of their plugs based on sales etc. another big plus is that those two titles add the room mics which gojira and plini lack.

I wasn't into Sleep Token until I somewhat randomly cranked a song (The Summoning I think) in my car. I was 🤯 so I listened to a few more songs and I was hooked. Tickets for the Phoenix show were already sold out and resale was ridiculous. I ended up getting a ticket up in the rafters in the second to last row. The sound up there was very drum and bass heavy but overall still sounded pretty damn good surprisingly. Then I went down a level and stood in a better spot for the last few songs. They sounded great from there and overall the show was really good too.*

It's important to me that music of any genre have some kind of decent melody and dynamics. I like that they transition from soft to heavy both in the instrumentation and the vocals.

I often find schtick uninteresting but I like theirs.

* I'd gone to see Bad Omens about a week before the ST show and they put on a great show. Tool is my favorite band of all time and they always put on phenomenal shows.

As a few of you know I somewhat recently switched to QC from the FM9. Waaaaaay back on SSO I said...wait, lemme find it...ah, here it is...

Over the years I've acquired 10 (!) of their plugins so with the arrival of PCOM I suppose the switch was inevitable regardless of how much of a Fractal fan I am.

Just curious: why didn't Helix work to fulfill this wishlist item?

I finally caved and gave QC a (second) shot for a very similar reason. I'd often use Gojira, but I'd route the output to my power amp and cab, rather than playing "in the box." When PCOM finally came, I was like, well this is a simpler way to do this thing I've been doing for a while now. And, yeah, it's been fun. I acknowledge the QC may not be up to snuff compared to Axe or Helix if we're comparing the authenticity of the tones within or maybe even raw electrical performance (e.g. aliasing, just to throw the one we all know and love out there), but it's very satisfying, very fast. I was having a blast last night with Gojira Hot into my custom 2x12.

And I really even haven't dug into Capturing. I've bought a pack from AmpGuru (it's OK), and I've gone on a few downloading sprees, but I haven't tried Capturing my amps or drawer full of overdrives.

Say it with me: 🗣️ STORMTROOPER WHITE!

Also Sleep Token is pretty cool. Their drummer is amazing, no arguing against that.

A white QC with black encoders would be much better than the red and gold IMO
The problem with Colors is if you use red leds on red chassis it will be harder to see
Really black is probably the best to show off the screen and leds
White would be second choice

And yet there have been 0 new amp models in a year? I just don't get it lol
I just want their Bogner XTC back it’s odd because they have great sounding captures of it , hell they even put one in the NANO factory presets

Regarding plug in there is definitely a lot of overlay
Realistically you could probably by three or four and be covered unless you are looking for a specific thing
Rabea I really did not love the Kraken amp was really farty
I will have to go back and try a bunch of the presets cause his vids sound great

I already had and really liked Plini and Nolly at that time. And although my modeling journey started with an AxSys 212 and continued through a few L6 products after that, I've never been a huge fan of the Helix stuff I've tried. It's good but I always end up with a bit of a "meh" feeling about it. Not really sure why
