NDSP QC vs Fractal: Amp and Drive Pedal Modeling Accuracy

The AM4 sounds great but honestly, I'm doing a lot of tap dancing, and I still feel the Fractal interface is clunky and not as polished as it could be.

I do NOT care for captures so I won't be using them in the QC. I also don't have any QC plugins.

So, with respect to the available amps and pedals - how do the platforms compare on pure accuracy with respect to the amps and drive pedals? Does the QC hang with the Fractal on amps? How about drive pedals? (I'm not fully sold on Fractal drive pedals either)

Even if you don't want to use amp captures there are great drive captures on QC.

Which drive pedals have you had issues with? I've been meaning to dive into some pedals as I can't always put my finger on why things sometimes feel off. Its not just Fractal I feel it with and its not always easy to put my finger on what it is exactly

Feel free to try my non-commercial captures under the name thetwilightescape on the Cortex Cloud. I didn't like the stock captures or the "freebies" handed out by some of the endorsers of the QC. These were much better, I think. They were V1 captures, didn't hold on to the unit for V2, but hopefully I can get one someday.

I love the drive/boost pedals in the Quad Cortex, and I use a lot of v2 captures of pedals as well. I have found some really cool fuzz captures as well

I'd recommend giving a couple plugins with amps you are interested a trial. Free 7 days and you can get an idea of the NDSP sound

I have tried many of their plugins on a trial basis. They're fine for recording.

I just don't wish to pay for more than I'm already paying for the unit.

I really like the AM4 and Fractal tones but I think the QC models are on par at least some of them are like Friedman BE/ 2203/ EVH/ AC30/ 6505

I can’t comment on the recent one like Dumble new Fenders
Drives were good

I think as mentioned grab a few of the plugins to get an idea
Nolly for instance will give you
A Shiva / 2203/5150

Plini has the Friedman HBE
Gojira has the EVH 5153 gold

*** edit just saw your post if you liked the plugin good chance you will like their hardware version

Fractal drives for me are best when you use them in the input boost section of the amp block. No modeler drives/amp/cab block are going to beat a pedalboard full of individual drives into an amp and speaker cabinet. I'm sure there are some great captures of drives in the QC but the drive pedal experience is a very tactile one that just hits different in modeler/profiler land.
