NAD: The Mesa-Ning

I was actually just messing around with my Lp into the F100 with the mids cranked and it actually sounded pretty righteous :rawk

Trey (often) runs a Mark III with a GEQ in a “reverse V” shape with the mid slider cranked up mad high lol… and also is known to stack multiple tubescreamers as well

i guess it all depends how its dialed!

thats awesome about the f100! i read that thing about the amp getting stiff and more forward sound... im honestly not sure i agree there with mine.. but its not an f100. i love what it does to the midbass above 7 though and it gets THICK above the bass knob frequencies so it doesnt flub. and for cleans it knocks it outa the park if you can pull back treble with mids way up.

Yeah the F definitely has some similarities to marks but definitely distinct

Ngl all your chatter about your II has me wanting to revisit my III without the artificial GEQ from the stomp. I basically only messed with it without that day 1 and haven’t gone back since but I find your commentary enticing for experimentation

He Midwives more Mids into existence than even I think is permissible. :brick

In fact....

How effective it is depends on where the treble knob is pointing.

That inherent interactivity of a Mark is something I love so much. Probably the same
reason others maybe come to loathe them. I just feel like over time, and with some
experience and experimentation, you can get gobs of juicy overtones and harmonic
content other amps can't touch. :love

And then tomorrow, it is all gone.

Ok, last part is and is not a joke. Marks are paradoxical like that. :chef

I still feel like they could all use multiple graphic EQs or maybe a graphic + another knob EQ.
