NAD: I’m such a big fan of mini amplifiers. EL84s are just the best!!

Is it hell smaller. It is twice as deep as a regular Marshall and weighs double. Also my old rack was 22U and I used to use 6 4x12s and 6 super leads all on so I know what heavy looks like.
Alright it looks smaller, but nowhere near twice as deep :crazy

Marshall JVM410 is 12.2” tall x 29.5” w x 8.4” deep, 47 lbs
Road King is 11” tall x 27.25” w x 10.5” deep, 55 lbs

So comparable, but the Road King LOOKs smaller from the front, just not the side!

Just for comparison, the EVH 100w heads are 11” tall x 30” w x 12” deep, and 55 lbs

Two years later, still the best amp I've ever bought. \m/

What's the difference between the Roadster and Road King? I know the Road King has more tube options, but what's the difference in the channels?

The Road King kills you with options. The Roadster took the best parts of the RK and simplified it a bit. Mainly the power amp settings are streamlined, like @Eagle said above. For example, on my RK2, I run the clean channel at 120w for maximum headroom and the tube rectifier. Channel 2 is for Brit mode for me and I run it with just the EL34s and the diode rectifier. Channel 3 is my heavy rhythm channel, I run it with 2x6L6 and 2xEL34, and Channel 4 is my lead channel, and I run it with 4x6L6. THere’s also two FX loops and 2 sets of speaker outputs (2x8ohm and 4x4ohm). Most of those options are unavailable on the Roadster, it’s just 4x6L6.

The Road King is an overwhelming amp until you break down that the back there means you have amazing tone sculpting available to you in the power section, so ultimately it becomes an array of amplifiers instead of just one.

Not IME because a lot of the modes have essentially the same character . I wanted some Mk tones to go with the recto ones. A lot of settings but ultimately still a recto through and through. I replaced it with a VH4 and have not missed it at all.
Great amp but definitely a recto .
