Six years ago I was on a crusade to buy one of these* and decided it was too impractical. Instead I fell down the modeling rabbit hole and bought an Axe FX III (which has a great Hiwatt model). Over time I gradually found my way back to tubes and decided earlier this year to get a 70s 4-input Hiwatt again. It took six months to find the right one, but I managed to snag one on Reverb about two minutes after it was posted.

Congratulations!!! Sweet acquisition!!!🤘

Man, I can't stop playing the Hiwatt. I'm breaking out pedals I haven't used in years because everything sounds so good with it. The plexi is super touchy about fuzz and drive pedals, but everything seems to work great with the Hiwatt.

Congrats!

Has it had the preamp ground loop fix done?

Maybe it’s that linear/ hi fidelity sorta flavor of the vibe you & your pedal arsenal jive the turkey with?
Yeah Plexi’s can have some Karen in them but I’ve found it’s the Marshall’s with 6550’s etc that are fussy.
One word… RAT, -ain’t no fussin’ about that.
Go ahead step on that button and start rippin’ shit up!
Also, a lot of that fussy’ness is how the imput gain has been designed & implemented coupled
with the tone stack design & implementation in the amplifiers.
