NAD Crab Marcus

Much mojo to you guys. I may be in the same situation later in the year after my company announced they were divesting our division…we’ll see, but time will tell.

Sorry for the derail - back to CRAB

Practice went great, it definitely sounds like a mark, ie fucking awesome. Also it’s so small and absurdly light it’s kinda wild lmao

I’d say the biggest complaint is that the GEQ is definitely more finicky to dial in. Seems more sensitive. I initially thought that maybe it had more than a +/- 12dB range, and perhaps it does indeed, but then it occurred to me that it’s probably more related to the fact that there’s less physical distance from top to bottom than an actual mark GEQ

Also one thing to add, I reccomend anyone ordering to make sure to specify to get the C++/III switch on there. Idk if he defaults to that or not. But he’s very flexible and will do basically whatever you want

One other thing I will add, if you are playing balls out metal all the time with a super loud drummer, possibly getting 100 instead of 50 watts (again 50 is the default). I actually wouldn’t have even considered tbis but coincidentally we did a random switcher oo jam where my bassist hopped on drums and drummer was doing Cookie Monster Vox. We were just doing random improv breakdown-core crap but my bass player hits the drums extremely hard, and while I wasn’t running out of headroom, I did feel like o was surpassing the point on the volume knob where it sounds good. In fairness, I probably could’ve taken the 750hz knob off of 0 too, but might be worth considering lol

All in all very impressed, certainly a no brainer given the ludicrous price. If you’re debating between a IIc+ RI or OG or a crab… well.. the crab probably isn’t for you lol. If you want a great sounding Mark amp fore dummy prices though, then I highly recommend

Still in awe of the price:tone:quality ratio lol

It might also depend on how true to the original the Mesa GEQ it is.

I find on my Mark V:90 the EQ is not very sensitive until you are close to the extremes. The scientific explanation from Fractal:

Good to hear and also good he builds 100w amps. I would always choose 100w over 50w in any scenario.

Yeah, I asked about 100 watts when I ordered my Dragon and he said he only does that in 50w.
Damn, was mentally building my dream dragon. Jk, I can't buy an amp right now anyway but the dragon would probably be the best route to go.

Haven't heard all his amps and not sure what's best but I would go with Fender Clean, Uber, Marcus and Engl.
