Just a quick FYI that if you find you have too much "raspiness" in the gain, try increasing the master volume and the Output master if you are using the Loop Active master. I find that from up past 11:00 on mine helps to lessen some of that really high end raspy edge and smooths it out a little.

I have one, and it's surprisingly versatile. You really gotta do the "ears-not-eyes" thing with the knobs, and don't be afraid to do things you might not think to do with them, but it can get some great classic rock tones as well as the ones it's known for.

10 hour round trip to get my Rivera Knucklehead Reverb.

I still have both over a decade later.

trip to grab a Mrak V Combo I bought off of Reverb for $1250. He wouldn't ship
it so on the road I went. It was south of Akron, Ohio in a cool town in the boonies,
and involved a precarious drive on the Ohio Turnpike (I-70) dodging mother fooking
Tanker Trucks. Yes, you pay a toll to have your life put in danger the entire time.

No distance is too far for a great amp, right?

I went to NY (Long Island) to get my Tri Axis & 2:90, bout 3 hours each way, and $50 in tolls. For a guy that lives out in the country, it was a bit of a culture shock too.

Not one upsmanship, just war stories about the lengths we went to in order to get the amps of our dreams.

When I arrived in Pittsburgh to pick up my Super Reverb the guy who was selling it looked like a short version of Wolfman Jack who was at the tail end of a three day crack binge and his girlfriend, clad in only a half-tied bathrobe, looked even worse for wear.

I picked up the amp as quick as I could and got the hell out of there.

This really is a fantastic amp. It has more balls than the 90s rectos with better tone (fight me), the Lonestar clean channel, and a series effects loop. If it had MIDI and an on-board overdrive it would be a perfect amp. Congrats @Orvillain you will love this thing for a long time!

If you are looking for overdrive suggestions, SD1, Grid Slammer, or some variant of the Fortin 33 all sound amazing for different things with this amp. The SD1 has nice cut to it, a tc preamp or 33 variant (like Pepers Pedals Dirty Tree) will make the amp absolutely searing, or the Grid Slammer will make a huge crushing sound with it as it passes a little more bass through than a standard TS or 808.

The clean channel really sparkles with a Mesa Tone Burst or Keeley Compressor up front before it too.
