My fav Marshall amp: JVM410H

For many years, I couldn’t connect with Marshall amps, until I tried the JVM410H. Damn… this is my choice for chugs when it comes to Marshall amps.

But in all seriousness, I was playing mine all evening and it’s such a fun amp to play. I like every mode on channels 1-3, and leave channel 4 on the Segeborn super lead settings. (Even though I rarely go to it) The JVM kinda killed my buzz for other M and hotrodded M amps. It’s all kind of in there on one channel/mode or another. (And can be mixed and matched well with different ODs)

Man other people get some killer tones out of them Marshalls but in the room they just are not my favorite but I have not had the pleasure of trying a JVM410H yet.

I’d also encourage you to try the DSL100H and the JCM900 SL-X.

Had a DSL 100H and I could not get along with it. Felt bad returning it but it just wasn’t pushing my buttons.

For sure. The Mark V, JP2C and the Stealth give me the best reach around ever. Only amp I ever returned was the Marshall. It really broke my heart. I spent a lot of time watching demos and thought it was going to be “the one” but no luck. Maybe it was the brand new boogie 2x12 slant unbroken in…not sure.

For a while I was really interested in the Satriani version but couldn't find one used at a price that worked for me.

I know it's blasphemy but I really need to concentrate on my playing instead of GASing for yet another tube amp.

...although having a Marshall join my Fryettes and Rivera 100 watt heads would complete the circle of Fender, crunch, and high gain tones.
