The Oceans 11 and 12 are solid, and some of the best digital spring reverbs you'll find in a pedal.
Yeah I know, some of their stuff is really good, I was joking/exaggerating a bit. 😉

I do indeed have lots of EHX in my arsenal, my favorites being weird and otherworldly devices like the Superego, Poly Chorus, Micro Synth, etc.

I'm actually very intrigued by this peda - its right up my alley, but the ad copy kinda cracked me up, and definitely left me more confused than anything at first look
Indeed.
That was why I looked everywhere for info. I just downloaded the manual off the Dunlop site ...it is very detailed, but not overwhelming. If I didn't have this need filled already, this would be an elegant and inexpensive solution!

Feels like I need someone to demo and walk through to figure out. At some point I should start getting better with loopers.

I listened to the John Bolinger demo of this and it sounded gross af. I am not the target market admittedly.

I just rediscovered this pedal while I was looking for alternatives to the EHX Attack Decay (which is cool but janky in typical EHX fashion), that aren't 7 million dollars for no reason. (Boss Slow Gear has entered the chat.)

The Layers pedal looks really interesting, and the price isn't nuts, but it doesn't do the simple thing I initially hoped it would do: apply Attack and Decay to the actual notes you're playing, a la EHX Attack Decay. As far as I can tell, these controls are only used to shape "layers" after the fact. Bummer, as a slightly more compact Attack Delay with added freeze and layering features (and if I understand correctly, reverb and delay of some kind as well?) would have been awesome. Definitely a fair trade vs. the onboard fuzz on the Attack Decay.

Ah well... :(

You mean janky EHX footswitches? The worst...

That's part of it. But the footswitches on the Attack Decay reissue are actually pretty decent. I'm more talking about their tendency to pack 10lbs of shit into a 5lb bag and then put zero effort into designing a UI that isn't outright user-hostile. Or their tendency to connect useful parameters to potentiometers whose values have been chosen with a random number generator, so that finding the sweet spot is almost impossible - or in some cases nowhere on the potentiometer at all. That kind of thing. I still keep buying their stuff because it's cool - in some cases unique, even - but yeesh.

i never liked the EHX stuff, especially 2000-2010 era. Flimsy stuff…
But i must admit that their recent pedals is quite well built. The pico series really deserves a look. The switches are much better now. I was kinda surprised by the pico 360 looper, being klick switch (but it’s more something between traditional switch and true soft relay switch) compared to the TC soft switch on the Ditto. But it’s really nice and tactile, and i now prefer that switch type more than true soft switches…

So.. well.. i think later EHX stuff… like the most recent ones deserves a tiny bit of interested..

For it was like: “nope… no EHX crap for me… ever”
Now i do take them into consideration when looking for pedals.
