Mixes and random stuff

Dude, I was beginning to think you'd left us? :hmm:grin Glad to see you back. Sounding tight!

This will end up in my abandoned riff pile, but I'm having fun playing around with the new AxeFX Factory presets, particularly the 80's Pop Prog preset on the Harmonizer scene. (Subbing in 2203's for the amps, as one does)

This could be a Devin Townsend tune!

Got a midi controller this week so I have been trying to remember how to play piano, but that made me stumble onto the drum machines in Roland Cloud… so I’ve now gone full moron.

808 stupidity

The 707 (inject into my fucking veins) immediately made me think of GTA Vice City so I kinda tried to theme around it as if it were the opening credits music. :ROFLMAO:

I could have left this in the oven a little longer, but I don’t want to fool with extra fills or the automation it needs.

Found a plugin called Sketch Cassette which is awesome. I lathered almost everything in it trying to degrade it to match the vibe of the track. Probably should have gone even further, but I’m ready to move on to something else.

Sounds great Whizz. That plugin is interesting too.
I'll sometimes use a similar effect on a mix bus or even master bus with my ambient stuff. Sometimes I'll even adjust the whole pitch down a bit.
It's made to work in Studio one, not sure it's sold standalone though.

Nice. I tried googling that but it must be native. I need to experiment with tape pitch mod. (y)

I’m a total sucker for tape modulation/saturation effects. I use the Deco plug, but stumbled on Sketch Cassette via the algorithm and it’s really been cool to fool with. You can change the type of cassette, age, hiss, wow, flutter, saturation, dropouts etc. Kind of addicting. :ROFLMAO:

I had never heard of those dudes before, but they also have a digital degradation/glitch plug I’m circling like a crackhead too.

I just came across this when searching too. Pretty cool.
