Michael Nielsen (Big Hairy Guitars ) Ask Me Anything?

Michael, along with the other clips I’m also uploading this one in case it helps:

The problem is not that it doesn’t feel good or that it sounds bad. In fact, it sounds exactly like putting a microphone in front of my real cab, and the feel is really close to my real amps. The issue is that it still comes across very raw, whereas most YouTubers somehow sound more “mastered-ready.” I can’t really explain it better than that.

Thanks again—I really appreciate your time!

By the way, the clip above was recorded at conversation-level volume.

I'm obviously not Mr. Nielsen, but I do have a suggestion; try the preamp settings in the cabinet block to add a bit of saturation to the signal. It is supposed to be similar to what happens to a signal coming into a nice analog mixing board.
