Mesa TC100 Inbound

So far I'm really enjoying the TC100. It feels good to have an amp head where you can just set the dials and play, less tweaking. I think @paisleywookiee is very much correct about the cabclone. It sounds quite bad using the direct out. Will have to wait for the load box to give that a spin
How do you find it compared to the axe models you were using ?
Yeah there is definite appeal to plug and play 3 channel amps
I find the drive channels need the tight switch engaged then it’s a tight articulate percussive beast
The other thing is the harmonics are crazy they leap off the fretboard on the Red Channel

I feel like the Axe Fx models are a tad smoother and have more gain? But again I'm using the Cab Clone for comparing recorded tones lol so I'm using some cab sim from mesa vs a York Audio IR.

But yes I usually keep the tight switch on!

Yeah this thing slaps. I've read the cab Clone EQ is just all around strange and people have had success with a mark style EQ curve (lowered mids). I slapped that in the effects loop and it really helped

They really should iterate their amps. Now that they have the CabClone IR, Mesa should be releasing V2 of their Triple Crown and JP2C amps with the upgraded Cab Clone IR. Still making amps with inferior technology makes little sense to me, especially since one of Mesa's biggest competitors is the market for their used amps. If I have a choice between the JP2C and a V2 JP2C with the CCIR in it, I'm buying the v2 and this would lower the used value of the original amp.

Makes business sense. So much business sense that I have no idea why they don't do it.

Have you ever seen how tightly-packed a modern Mark/JP2C amp is? If mine ever needs repairs it’s going back to the factory, there’s no way a tech would touch it, and I’m not about to go modding something that requires that much dissassembly to do anything of worth.

For real. I saw a JP2C at the local shop this weekend and was kinda shocked how small it is considering the wattage and amount of controls.
