Mesa TC100 Inbound

I told myself I was done with tube amps but here we are. Will be picking it up tomorrow!

@JiveTurkey I planned on using the Cab Clone DI into my DAW for recording but I feel like I've heard some issues from you about this feature, albeit via the Badlander.

I'll post some pics tomorrow 😬
TC-100 is the old CabClone, i.e. the poo-flavored one. Do not use.

I record my FAS Boogies. Real thing for gigging \m/
Get just the TONEX plug-in, or NAM, and capture that for recording. I’m blown away. Honestly wondering whether or should punt on the FM9 at this point. Waiting to see how the DynaCabs are.

Believe it or not JT had the Tone X and has captures on the Net.

Tbh I've reignited my love for the tone x pedal. I'll have a board completed with it this weekend

I was wary to pull the trigger. Ive heard mixed things about the TC but I've always loved the tone as well as the Fractal model
They are cool for the reasons that many don’t like them IMO
The Blue channel sounds Brit inspired but it not another Marshall copy
The Red to me is more like a Bogner than Recto but with tight switch on it has a great tone and just sings for lead
If you like the FAS models it’s likely you will dig the amp as Fractal is pretty close but the Mesa just kind of has more of those characteristics
It really has its own voice it has the Mesa saturation but eq is different

Awesome! Yeah I'm not expecting it to sound like an exact copy or a recto or jcm etc otherwise I would have just gotten one of those. I'll be picking it up here shortly!

I wanted to get a TC-100 but I called Mesa after the TC-50 was released and they said there wouldn't be a TC-100 so I bought a TC-50. Then the TC-100 was released a month later.

I was bummed because even though I like the TC-50's tones it doesn't have enough clean headroom for playing larger venues without sound reinforcement.

I'm leaning toward the Mark VII since its 90 watts should be more than enough to stay clean at the volumes I gig with.

If I'd gotten the TC-100 there's a good chance I would have stuck with it because even the TC-50 has some really sweet tones. One of my favorites is the Clean channel with the Drive switch engaged. It almost makes it a four channel amp. I really wish that had been MIDI switchable instead of just having a toggle switch on the faceplace.

Yeah I have a Grid Slammer/Badlander/HX cabs cap out on Tonenet. The capture process was easy but having one successful capture out of 20 attempts was pretty much nail in the coffin for that product on my end. I like trying new things but my patience is about as short as you are going to get and if something is clunky and a PITA; I have no problem dropping it and moving on. Whether the problem is of my own making or not :bag

On the way home 😬

I tried the combo a couple years back. Fantastic clarity under gain, and was remarkably easy to dial in despite having 523 modes. Would have liked to try it through a 412.
