Luca to the Lakers? WTH!

As somebody who does not know much about basketball,

My question:

Jordan played something like 20 17 seasons and won a total of 6 rings? Kobe also something like that?

That is 6/20 17. Why is that good?

No doubt he was a great athlete but I just don’t get that scoring.
Oh I get it. Jordan played 15, won 6 titles, Kobe played 20, won 5, Magic 5/14, Bird 4/13, LeBron 4/22, etc.

Bill Russell won 11/13 (!!!) but it was different league, very few teams, and Boston had a visionary coach. In the modern era it is a highly competitive league with multiple teams and (controversially) very top heavy compared to other sports (like Football/Soccer, American Football, even Baseball at this point), where the top teams are a step above the rest and you hardly see an underdog come of of nowhere.

It would take a long time to explain, but basketball is a sport where the best players have (IMO) the biggest impact out of any other sport mainstream team sport.

Okay so that’s why all these chased that 5 or ring .. when you do that you actually belong to that small club of athletes who made it there.

I really like to watch those documentaries. On Netflix there are a couple of them but I don’t know much about the sport :)

And of course a lot overlap (Magic and Bird were essentially flip flopping winning titles between each other).

I think a lot of the “sports” leagues are just entertainment leagues now. I’ve heard people say the NBA has become “NBE” (WWF -> WWE transition? :rofl), but that applies to almost all of them.

Of course that’s not a bad thing if you don’t like sports and do enjoy the entertainment part. :clint

I’m curious to see if there’s any truth to the seriousness of Luca’s calf injury? Still….he’s only 25. I can’t see that being a viable excuse for the long term. I guess only time will tell.

Calf connects to the Achilles. Hello, Kevin Durant. :idk

Mark Cuban has always had a love affair with AD, too.

Who runs things over there, is it still Jeanie Buss? She has dirt on the entire Mavs front office, that’s the only explanation for this trade.

How many did Wilt Chamberlain get? 2?

Yet often considered one of the greatest. I was in the USA when up-and-comer Lew Alcindor was making his mark. A poor free-throw shooter, Wilt could dunk from the foul line.

Rule change!
