Line6 Powercab CL Active

You might be right. Not sure how you know it will sound great. The sounds in the Line6 vid were meh at best.

Because the videos in the Line6 video either:

a) Used the internal Powercab Speaker models which are downright terrible (based on experience with the older Powercab)
b) OR they used an IR on top of the speaker (which is now a guitar speaker). This is unlike Kemper Kab / Kone where they do complex convolutions.

They key here though is that this unit has a guitar speaker. That is the big differentiator because it brings big improvement in tonality and feel compared to FRFR.

Yes, this is just one guitar speaker (given that it's a fixed physical unit) but that's all you need most times when you actually get down to playing. I'm sure the speaker was very carefully chosen.

$450 for the 1x12. Pricing doesn't make sense to me on this - build seems to be very similar to Catalyst with less features essentially - unless the build quality is more substantial or a better speaker but the specs don't really call that out.

Decent enough if that's correct. The old PC112+ still goes for 750€ over here. I never understood what made these so expensive.

I'm not sure what all the complaints are about. I loved my PC+. It's the only powered cab I've ever played that actually made a modeler sound like it was coming through a real amp. The stock built in sounds were awful though, IRs into it were great. The low-end actually responded like a real amp into a real cab ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
